WWE Raw TV News & Notes 2/1

– The top news story was WWE announcing a U.S. Title match between Kalisto and Alberto Del Rio at the Fast Lane PPV in three weeks. That was the most significant announcement/development from the show.

– Brock Lesnar returned to Raw after a one week absence. Lesnar was confronted by Dean Ambrose in the opening segment, confronted backstage by WWE World Hvt. champion Triple H, and ended the show by giving Ambrose an F5 after the main event tag match of Ambrose & Roman Reigns beating New Day.

Lesnar, Ambrose, and Reigns are in the #1 contender match to the WWE Title at Fast Lane, prompting Hunter and Stephanie McMahon to try to divide and conquer.

– Week 2 of A.J. Styles’s WWE introduction featured Styles on Miz TV. Miz did all the talking putting Styles through the wringer, so Styles punched out Miz when he had enough of Miz’s stunt.

WWE then announced Styles vs. Miz for this week’s Smackdown.

– Chris Jericho made a brief backstage cameo vowing to keep a close eye on Styles’s match against Miz on Smackdown. Jericho hinted at a re-match down the line after Styles beat him last week on Raw.

– Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas missed Raw. Bray’s henchmen beat down Big Show after Erick Rowan lost to Show. Bo’s absence from the Social Outcasts was fictionalized as Dallas working on his rhymes after his “rap battle” with Flo Rida last week on Raw.

– In the Divas division, Sasha Banks split off from Team B.A.D. and formed a soft alliance with Becky Lynch against Tamina and Naomi.

Also, Brie Bella pinned Divas champion Charlotte in a non-title match despite interference from Ric Flair.

– As part of Black History Month, WWE ran a video package highlighting Mark Henry’s career and legacy that almost seemed like a Hall of Fame induction video.
