4/7 WWE NXT in Concord, N.C. Results – Shinsuke Nakamura NXT tour debut, Balor, Aries, A. Alpha, Eva takes Women’s Title

Dasha Fuentes and Tom Phillips handled ring announcing duties. The crowd was about the same size as Bound for Glory, held at the same arena in October; maybe a little less. Probably a couple thousand.

(1) No Way Jose pinned Riddick Moss.

(2) “The Drifter” Elias Samson pinned John Skyler. (Skyler is the champion of the local PWX promotion.)

(3) Alex Riley pinned Blake (sans Murphy and Alexa Bliss). The crowd chanted “Where’s Alexa?” at Blake.

(4) Eva Marie pinned Carmella with her feet on the ropes (at least she tried to get her feet on the ropes, bless her heart). After the match, an angry Carmella returned to the ring, hit her signature moves, and dumped Eva Marie to the outside.

(5) NXT tag champions American Alpha (Jason Jordan & Chad Gable) beat The Revival (Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder) to retain the NXT Tag Titles.

[Intermission]

(6) Austin Aries pinned Manny Andrade.

(7) NXT Women’s champion Asuka defeated Peyton Royce via submission to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. Asuka did not have the belt. Before the match, Eva Marie appeared on the ramp with the belt and said if Asuka wants the belt back she’ll give her a title shot in Columbia tomorrow night. After the match, Asuka cut a promo saying she would kick Eva Marie’s ass.

(8) Shinsuke Nakamura & NXT champion Finn Balor beat Tye Dillinger & Baron Corbin, who wrestled with his t-shirt on. More of a comedy match, with the wrestlers performing all of Ric Flair’s signature spots here in the heart of Flair Country.

After the match, Balor cut the standard babyface end-of-house show promo, thanking us all for coming. Nakamura took the mic and said something unintelligible. Then they celebrated at ringside.

Overall, a decent show, especially after intermission, but nothing special. Bad timing, right after a long WrestleMania Week and with a lot of recent call-ups affecting the roster.
