SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Last year, WWE executive Triple H said Chyna (Joanie Laurer) deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame, but there were too many obstacles to overcome.

Now that Laurer has died, WWE brand executive Stephanie McMahon said this week that Chyna will surely be in the Hall of Fame at some point.

McMahon was quoted by TMZ while in New York City for Variety’s “Entertainment and Technology” Summit on Thursday.

“I’m sure that we will see Chyna in the Hall of Fame at some point in the future,” McMahon said. “I’m not sure exactly what year that will be, but there’s no denying her contributions to WWE.”

Hunter said on Stone Cold’s podcast in February 2015 that Chyna’s Hall of Fame inclusion or exclusion is not as easy as someone being “deserving,” as it comes down to where it makes the right business sense and ultimately one person’s decision (Vince McMahon).

Hunter said the HOF is a funny thing in that it is not as simple as “this guy (or gal) had a great career.”
