SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Update: WWE is planning to introduce two new titles on tonight’s Smackdown Live episode following Summerslam.

WWE Smackdown GM Daniel Bryan tweeted the update a few hours before Smackdown. The assumption is WWE will be introducing a Women’s Title and Tag Titles exclusive to Smackdown.

WWE has a quick turnaround to their first brand-exclusive PPV, Backlash, in three weeks on September 11, prompting the decision to introduce new titles for the PPV.

After three nights in Brooklyn, New York, WWE shifts to the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut for Smackdown Live.

Included is the Smackdown brand fall-out from Summerslam, including A.J. Styles’s clean victory over John Cena at Summerslam. Both Styles and Cena are advertised for Smackdown.

Plus, Dean Ambrose is still WWE champion after defeating Dolph Ziggler. Will WWE link up Ambrose and Styles following Styles’s big singles victory?

WWE will also have follow-up on Randy Orton’s injury status following his match against Brock Lesnar at Summerslam.

Also in-play is the Smackdown debut of Nikki Bella, who took Eva Marie’s place on the roster following Eva’s Wellness Policy suspension.

Also advertised are Bray Wyatt, IC champion The Miz (with Maryse), Ziggler, Kane, and Becky Lynch. Alberto Del Rio is advertised, but he is suspended.

WWE is also advertising Raw brand stars Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins for off-air happenings. Included is a bonus main event of Cena & Ambrose & Reigns vs. Rollins & Styles & Wyatt in a six-man tag match.
