SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Hugo Knox says on his Twitter page that he has reached mutual agreement to part ways with WWE. The 31 year old, real name Stuart Charles Tomlinson, played football (“soccer”) in England for years before joining WWE’s Developmental System in 2013.

Keller’s Analysis: Tomlinson, a prototype of a top WWE prospect – muscular and good looking – is one of those crossover recruits WWE had high hopes for as they have begun to look outside of the established U.S. indy scene and Mexico and Japanese wrestling promotions to feed their roster new stars. The jury is still out on whether the NXT Developmental System is going to be a success in that regard, as it turns out the vast majority of WWE’s successful new wrestlers on the main roster are either second or third generation wrestlers or products of other pro wrestling promotions who toiled with low pay and rose through the ranks through sheer determination. It tends to be the most effective “test” for whether someone is going to love pro wrestling enough to put up with the endurance and grind that is part of the WWE schedule. On another note,Tomlinson needs to charge his phone.
