ANNOUNCED BY NXT…

  • Authors of Pain vs. SANITY for the NXT Tag Team Championship
  • Johnny Gargano tries to break his losing streak against Fabian Achner

“THE REMATCH”

One of my favorite qualities of NXT television is how they give feuds time to really tell a deeper more personal story. The Authors of Pain had been noticeably absent from Wednesday nights since SANITY defeated them at the Barclay’s center nearly two months ago. Like most title changes a rematch must occur, but Paul Ellering and his boys have been sitting and scheming for just the right time to invoke that clause. Tonight they get their shot, and to keep it fair, William Regal has banded the Undisputed and any member of SANITY that is not competing. Will they listen? Let’s go with our instincts on this one and say… not a chance in hell.

FACE TO FACE, MAN TO MAN”

It’s incredible to watch Andrade Cien Almas on a path towards success. For years he was just floating around as an NXT gatekeeper, a role that I personally believe he is far too talented to fall into. Most of that credit should go to his manager Zelina Vega, who’s literally whipped Cien back into his most fiercest and most competitive. Zelina has also been the one to challenge NXT Champion Drew McIntyre, but the big Scotsman will not acknowledge that challenge unless it comes from Andrade himself. After defeating Roderick Strong (thanks to a Vega frankensteiner into the steel steps) last week Cien and Zelina joined Mauro at the commentary table to take one last stab at getting McIntyre’s attention. They must have, because they will meet face to face in the ring this evening.

EVEN THE STRONG BREAK”

Speaking of Roderick Strong, his latest defeat may have him really questioning his place in the company. Fortunately for Roddy, there is a new group that are desperate to gain his trust. Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish immediately joined him at ringside after his loss to Cien to entice Roddy to join their dominant faction. “We know you” spoke Cole, referring of course to their days at Ring of Honor. After several massive failures including two shots at the NXT gold, will Roddy become a member of Undisputed? That’s the question that will carry us to Takeover, because he was left with an armband, and he didn’t seem too unhappy with it.

THE STAGE IS SET”

-While her boys worry about their tag-team gold Nikki Cross has another chance to reign atop the women’s division. She defeated the field in a battle royal last week and will join Ember Moon, Peyton Royce, and Mae Young Classic Winner Kairi Sane in the Fatal-4 way in Houston. These four all shared a ring for a brief moment last Wednesday, but they can only contain themselves for so long.

-Velveteen Dream has taken some drastic measures to get Aleister Black’s attention. Even worse, he tied Black up and slapped him across the face begging him to say his name. Now Black not only notices “Patrick”, but has his square in his targets for a Black Mass.

-“The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels has made it his mission to rebuild Johnny Gargano back into the competitive underdog that he once was. Gargano has an opportunity to get back on track as he faces Fabian Achner later tonight.

-Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan finally decdied to team up, but they came up just short against Riddick Moss and Tito Sabbatelli. Will the Brit and the “one” give it another shot? I HOPE SO!!!!!

Huge title match and a face-off between the NXT Champ’s next challenger. I’ll be watching… will you?
