  • The pre-show of the show will air live on ROH’s facebook page, as well as FITE, New Japan World, as well as the PPV feed if you buy the PPV.
  • The pre-show will include the Honor Rumble as well as a newly added 6-Woman tag match. Check out those details, as well as the full card below.

•Closing Commentary

In this week’s television recap, I noted to come here to read my opinion on the build to the ROH main event at G1 Supercard. Using the word “build” is being generous; this match was announced the day after the 17th anniversary show. This makes sense to me, as they taped TV the next day.

But, the fact that this was not used until the episode that happens literally days before the biggest show in company history is completely unacceptable. I try to sit back and have a clear head in my criticism of ROH. I understand that they don’t do live TV, that they have little to no budget beyond what they currently spend on talent, that they have a built-in TV deal, like WCW in the ’90s.

But, the fact that the build of this match was filmed on 3/16, and not shown until 3/31 on TV, makes me think that this company will never be able (with its current direction) to build the story to great matches.

Will ROH continue to have great matches? Yes, absolutely. The workrate at G1 Supercard will crush the workrate at WrestleMania, but these matches will not have great stories and builds to go along with them. We will never get a Stone Cold vs. Mr. McMahon, no Hogan turning Heel, No Mega Powers Exploding.

This is unfair and disappointing for the talent of ROH. If I were a talent that is not currently signed to ROH or has a contract coming up, I would really think hard about ROH being the best company for my Wrestling Character, not just my bank account.
