Matches and Segments

Tommaso Ciampa returns to action against Angel Garza

The wait is over as Tommaso Ciampa returns to action as he takes on Angel Garza. The match was announced after Garza was upset Cathy Kelley wanted to interview Ciampa instead of him. The question is will Garza put a halt to Ciampa quest to regain goldie?

(Amin’s Analysis: This should be fun to watch as I expect Garza to deliver a breakout performance as he’s being positioned as Ciampa’s first match following his return. I’m interested in seeing how Ciampa’s longterm story for his chase for Goldie builds and how he plays the roll of a top babyface. After being showcase as the best heel in pro wrestling for the most part of 2018.)

Pete Dunne looks for payback against Damian Priest

After defeating Danny Burch in hard fought battle during the NXT 2-hour premiere on the USA Network, Pete Dunne found himself in the crosshairs of Damian Priest. How will The Bruiserweight respond or will the The Archer of Infamy continue to run roughshod at the expense of the former WWE UK Champion.

(Amin’s Analysis: Dunne is an amazing wrestler and I don’t mind him being in this position for time being as can help elevate new rising stars. This will be Priest biggest program since joining NXT and I looked forward to seeing how he does in a lengthy match because most of them have been short.)

Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic square off in a rubber match

Dominik Dijakovic and Keith Lee have left the NXT Universe in amazement with their amazing display of athleticism. Lee and Dijakovic will look to settle the score as they will face-off in a highly anticipated rubber match. The question is which of these two amazing wrestler will come out on top.

(Amin’s Analysis: I’m sure this will be tremendous as Dijakovic and Lee will do whatever it takes to tear the house down. I’m more interested in seeing where do Dijakovic and Lee go next after the conclusion of the rubber match. With Balor and Ciampa tied up to Cole, I would like to see the winner of this match challenge for the NXT North American Title.)

Tegan Nox returns to NXT

After suffering a knee injury in last year’s Mae Young Classic, the girl with the Shiniest Wizard is back as Tegan Nox returns to in-ring competition tonight on NXT.

(Amin’s Analysis: I’m really looking forward to this because Tegan Nox is the one of the brightest wrestlers and was great in the Mae Young Classic. I would expect this to be a showcase match for Nox and then will be interesting to see who her first big program will be against.)

The Big Takeaway from last week’s show

WWE United Kingdom Champion Walter outlasted Kushida in a terrific match. The Velveteen Dream showed photos of Roderick Strong posing on a couch to build up their NXT North American Championship match which takes place next week on NXT. Tommaso Ciampa confronted the Undisputed ERA and told Goldie “Daddy’s Home.” Bianca BeLair and Rhea Ripley both want a shot at the NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler. Plus great video packages aired hyping up the return of Finn Balor to NXT.

Closing Thoughts

I look forward to watching the show as this should be another very good episode of NXT. The wrestling has been tremendous and will be the strength of carrying the show. I would like to see some more promos on the show. I did like how they used video packages to build up characters and promote upcoming matches. As a pro wrestling fan, I want to see NXT continue to put on good shows as more fans will come around to watching the show.
