Finn Balor, Keith Lee, and Tommaso Ciampa will battle in a Triple Threat Match on Wednesday night this week to determine who will challenge Adam Cole for the NXT Title on December 18. Plus, Lio Rush will defend the NXT Cruiserweight Title against Angel Garza. Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuiness, and Beth Phoenix will call the action as NXT airs live from Full Sail University on the USA Network. Let’s take a look and see what’s currently advertised on tonight’s episode of NXT.

Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee, and Finn Balor square off to determine No. 1 contender to the NXT Championship

The next challenger for Adam Cole’s NXT Championship will be determined tonight as Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee and Finn Balor will clash in a Triple-Threat Match. All three wrestlers have made their case to a championship match. Most recently was Lee pinning Cole in last week’s six-man tag team match. The question is which one of these wrestlers will step up and challenge Cole next week for the NXT Title?

(Amin’s Analysis: This will be an awesome match as Balor, Ciampa and Lee are three extremely talented wrestlers as they will put on a show for the fans. I would keep the hot streak going and have Lee challenge Cole. It’s too early for Balor as I would expect for him to wrestler Johnny Gargano first before getting a championship match. It’s also early for Ciampa as they should have him get past all the members of Undisputed Era before getting to Cole.)

Mia Yim goes one-on-one with Dakota Kai

Mia Yim will be out for payback as she will be taking on Dakota Kai in single’s action. Kai seemed to imply that she was behind the WarGames pre-show attack which took Yim out of the Women’s WarGames match. Rhea Ripley didn’t take kindly as her scheduled match with Kai last week was a setup for Yim to get her revenge. What will happen when Kai and Yim face-off tonight on NXT?

(Amin’s Analysis: This should be a good match as both Kai and Yim are talented wrestlers. Kai has really shined since turning heel and I would like to see her pick up the win against Yim to build her up for Tegan Nox’s eventual return.)

Lio Rush defends his NXT Cruiserweight Championship against Angel Garza

The rivalry between Lio Rush and Angel Garza has reached a boiling point as these two battle in a rematch for the NXT Cruiserweight Title. The mind games began when Garza taunted Rush’s family several weeks ago. Rush didn’t take kindly as he decked Garza during the WarGames pre-show. Garza’s mind games continued as he tried to get under the skin as he interrupted Rush post-match interview after he defeated Akira Tozawa in a great wrestling match. What will happen when Garza and Rush meet once again for the Cruiserweight Title?

(Amin’s Analysis: It will be interesting to see who leaves with the NXT Cruiserweight Title but this should be a great match as both Garza and Rush are tremendous wrestlers. I’ve really liked how they have made the Cruiserweight division feel important on NXT.)

Is Rhea Ripley ready for Shayna Baszler?

Last week Shayna Baszler granted Rhea Ripley an NXT Women’s Championship match after putting the challenger to sleep in the Kirifuda Clutch. Ripley stood her ground but the numbers advantage was too much as she was taken down by Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, and Marina Shafir. The question is who will Ripley respond for challenging Baszler for the Women’s Title next week on NXT.

(Amin’s Analysis: I expect we will get a big angle on tonight’s show and it will be interesting to see if they add a stipulation to build up more interest in the Women’s Title match.)

The Big Takeaway From Last Week’s Show

Keith Lee pinned NXT Champion Adam Cole in a six-man tag team match. KUSHIDA retuned to action as he defeated Cameron Grimes in a fun wrestling match.

Overall Thoughts

Wednesday nights are the best times for pro wrestling fans. I expected this will be another great episode of NXT. Fans tuned in should expect some great wrestling matches and some big angles to hype up next week’s big show which will feature two NXT Championship matches.
