SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Former UFC fighter, Paige VanZant, has officially signed with AEW.

This week on AEW Dynamite, VanZant was involved in the main event TNT Championship match between Scorpio Sky and Sammy Guevara. During the match, Guevara crashed through a table and almost was forced to discontinue. As the doctors and referees checked on him, Tay Conti ran out to check on him as well. Eventually, Guevara jumped into the ring to finish the match and Conti had a staredown with VanZant, who was sitting ringside.

Later in the match Sky’s partner and fellow Dan Lambert stablemate, Ethan Page, got involved in the match, leading to Sky getting the victory and winning the TNT title. VanZant took her own liberties and attacked Conti. Van Zant viciously threw Conti into the steel stairs and then rolled her into the ring. Van Zant then signed her AEW contract on top of Conti as the show went off the air.

VanZant has appeared with Lambert on AEW television before and is a part of his MMA training gym, American Top Team. VanZant had a memorable microphone showdown with Chris Jericho during ATT’s feud with Inner Circle and made other appearances during that program as well. Before leaving AEW, Brandi Rhodes had an encounter with VanZant as well.

VanZant is a former UFC fighter, but has not competed in the UFC since 2020. Most recently, VanZant fought and lost in the BKFC against Rachael Ostovich.
