SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

The NWO was reportedly penciled in for an appearance over WrestleMania weekend on April 2 and April 3.

Fightful Select is reporting that Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, X-Pac, and Scott Hall were set for an appearance to hype the WWE 2K22 video game prior to Hall’s death. The report does not indicate whether or not that appearance would have taken place during the WrestleMania shows or elsewhere. It is unknown at this time whether or not the group will still be brought in.

Hall died on March 14 after complications around an injured hip that he had surgery on. Hall suffered a dislodged blood clot that caused him to suffer three heart attacks. Hall was 63 years old.

The NWO are a root act of wrestling’s Attitude Era. Hall and Nash joined WCW from the WWE as outsiders and then Hulk Hogan famously turned heel at Bash at the Beach in 1996 to join the group. The NWO was brought to WWE in 2002. The original members of the group wouldn’t last long together as Hall and Nash would turn on Hogan after Hogan’s WrestleMania 18 match against The Rock. At WrestleMania 18, Scott Hall took on Stone Cold Steve Austin in a losing effort, putting a bow on their feud with him that began upon the NWO entering the company.

Hogan, Hall, Nash, and X-Pac entered the WWE Hall of Fame as the NWO last year at WrestleMania 37.
