Steve Austin talks CM Punk

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

The “Stone Cold” Steve Austin appearance on the KO Show with Kevin Owens is reportedly set to headline night on of WrestleMania 38 in the main event.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that though Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair was originally penciled in for that slot, things have changed and the company will likely be going with Austin and Owens. The report indicates that plans may still change, but that the idea is the segment would devolve into a brawl that would end with Stunners to send the night one audience home happy.

Since losing a triple threat match with Seth Rollins against RK-Bro and Alpha Academy, Kevin Owens was on a mission to be a part of WrestleMania. His solution was calling Steve Austin out for an appearance on his KO Show. Owens ran down Texas and Austin, but Austin accepted the challenge via a social media video. In that video, Austin says he doesn’t know whether or not he’ll be having a match, a brawl, or an interview with Owens, but that he guaranteed to kick Owens’ ass.

Austin has not appeared at a WrestleMania event since WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, Texas. He’s been inactive as an in-ring competitor since WrestleMania 19, a match he lost to The Rock.

WrestleMania 38 airs on Peacock on Saturday April 2 and Sunday April 3. Matches include Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship, Seth Rollins vs. an opponent of Vince McMahon’s choosing, Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns, and more.
