Imperium and Raquel Gonzalez make their main roster debut in WWE

SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Imperium is reportedly set to be called up from NXT to the WWE main roster.

Fightful Select is reporting that Imperium would likely head to the Smackdown brand once on the main roster and that the act would only include Gunther and Marcel Barthel. The report indicates that Fabian Aichner will remain down and not make the move up.

On this week’s episode of NXT 2.0, Gunther lost to new champion, Bron Breakker, in a hastily put together main event. Breakker won the NXT Championship from Dolph Ziggler on this week’s post-WrestleMania edition of Monday Night Raw. In addition, Barthel and Aichner showed dissension on television this week during and after their tag team match with The Creed Brothers.

Gunther holds the record for the longest NXT UK Championship run in company history. He joined the company in January of 2019 and won the UK Championship from Pete Dunne at NXT TakeOver: New York. He would hold the title until TakeOver 36. There, he lost the belt to Ilja Dragunov. Gunther constructed the Imperium team with Barthel and Aichner in May of 2019. He now appears full-time for the NXT 2.0 roster.

Gunther wrestled and defeated LA Knight at NXT Stand and Deliver during WrestleMania weekend. On the same show, Barthel and Aichner lost the Tag Team Championships to MSK. On Wednesday afternoon, it was reported that one half of MSK, Nash Carter, was released from the WWE.
