Tony Khan has made a major match announcement for Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite. Live in New Orleans, Samoa Joe will face ROH World Television Champion, Minoru Suzuki. Suzuki”s championship will be on the line during the match.

Samoa Joe returned to wrestling at ROH Supercard of Honor last week. Joe appeared at the end of the show and confronted Jay Lethal after the main event, in which Jonathan Gresham won the Undisputed ROH World Championship. This was the first ROH since the company shut down at the end of 2021 and the first under Tony Khan’s leadership as owner and head booker. Khan purchased the company at the beginning of March. On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Joe defeated Max Caster to qualify for the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

Joe has been away from wrestling since vacating the NXT Championship in early September. Joe was then released from WWE early in 2022. Tony Khan has announced that Joe is signed to work in both AEW and ROH.

Minoru Suzuki won the ROH World Television Championship at the ROH Supercard of Honor event last week. He defeated Rhett Titus for the title. He’s wrestled in AEW against Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, and as a part of Suzuki-gun with Lance Archer against Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston.

Next week on a special live episode of AEW Rampage, Adam Page will be defending his AEW World Championship against Adam Cole in a Texas Deathmatch.
