WWE SUPERSTARS MERCHANDISE

The AWA Remco figures from the 80’s are perhaps my favorite figure collection of all-time. Sure, the quality and details don’t stand the test of time, but those quirky figures of wrestlers such as Nick Bockwinkel, Ric Flair, the Road Warriors, and the Freebirds were so exciting to see on store shelves and to play with. Two current collections pay homage to those figures.

The first collection is the new WWE Superstars line from Mattel. This fun retro collection includes Ric Flair, Hollywood Hogan, Honky Tonk Man, and Bray Wyatt in the first set. I’m not sure what younger fans will think about this set, but to older collectors like myself who love the nostalgia of the AWA figures, this set is a must-have. The figures come with accessories such as cloth outfits and extra hands. Each figure goes for $21.99 and they are available exclusively at Wal-Mart. I have spotted Flair, HTM, and Wyatt so far, but no sign of Hogan.

MAJOR WRESTLING FIGURE PODCAST FIGURES

The other set that is inspired by the old AWA figures is the latest release from the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast. This Ringside Collectibles exclusive line features Matt Cardona, Brian Myers, Mark Sterling, and a referee. I received the figures of Cardona and Myers last week and they are pretty awesome. Each of their figures comes with an alternate masked head. The figures go for $26.99 at ringsidecollectibles.com.

NWO FUNKO LUNCH BOX MERCHANDISE

In anticipation of the nWo Funko Pop 3-pack of Hollywood Hogan, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash being released, Wal-Mart also has an nWo lunch box available for $11.88. While the nWo Funko 3-pack is listed as a Wal-Mart exclusive, it is currently available at wweshop.com too for $39.99.
