This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was viewed by 977,000 viewers, a drop compared to last week. The episode featured C.M. Punk vs. Penta, Jurassic Express vs. ReDragon for the AEW Tag Team Championship, and Samoa Joe vs. Minoru Suzuki in the main event.

In the adults 18-49 demo, AEW Dynamite pulled in a .37 ratings, also down from last week’s .38. This is the lowest rating in the demo in six weeks.

Punk defeated Penta in the opening match of the show with a GTS. The tag team championship match between Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus and ReDragon was a nice example of what AEW tag team wrestling is. The match was stocked with pace, action, and spots, though leaving many traditional tag team match rules to the side. Jurassic Express were victorious to retain their titles. After the match, FTR made an appearance and confronted ReDragon, but also sparked tension with Jurassic Express as well.

In the main event, Samoa Joe defeated Minoru Suzuki to win the ROH World Television Championship. Joe returned to wrestling at ROH Supercard of Honor on April 1. It was then revealed that he had signed with AEW and would work ROH in addition to his commitments to AEW.

As Joe celebrated his TV title win, the lights went out and Satnam Singh appeared behind him. Singh took Joe out and joined sides with Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal, who have been embroiled in a mini feud with Joe since he made his return. Last week on Dynamite, Joe defeated Max Caster to qualify for the men’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament.
