SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Well, it’s Monday. Let your wrestling week begin. Monday Night Raw airs live on the USA Network as WWE builds to WrestleMania Backlash.

This week’s episode of WWE Raw is set to feature two championship matches. First, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships will be on the line when Sasha Banks & Naomi defend against Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley. The WWE United States Championship will also be up for grabs when Finn Balor defends against Theory.

Announced segments for the show include:

  • A double commitment ceremony between Tamina & Akira Tozawa and Dana Brooke & Reggie. R-Truth will serve as the officiant.
  • Kevin Owens to issue a lie detector test to Ezekiel
  • Sasha Banks & Naomi vs. Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
  • Finn Balor vs. Theory – WWE United States Championship.

Owens was confronted in the ring by Ezekiel on the night after WrestleMania 38. Owens called him out for being Elias and has demanded Ezekiel take the test to prove him right.

The women’s tag team title match was originally scheduled to take place on last week’s episode of Raw. It was postponed due to Rhea Ripley entering WWE’s health protocol. As for the United States Championship match. Balor won the title off of Damian Priest, but has been beaten twice by Theory in non-title matches. This is Theory’s first championship opportunity on Monday Night Raw.

Theory lost to Pat McAfee at WrestleMania 38 and also received a Stunner from “Stone Cold” Steve Austin after Austin appeared to save McAfee from a Theory and Mr. McMahon attack.

Theory has been featured on-screen as Mr. McMahon’s protege since Survivor Series in 2021.
