NXT announced a special, Spring Breakin’, episode of television on May 3. The show will feature two championship matches. Bron Breakker vs. Joe Gacy for the NXT Championship in the main event and Cameron Grimes vs. Carmelo Hayes vs. Solo Sikoa for the North American Championship.

Breakker and Gacy have been involved in a personal feud with one another since Gacy kidnapped Breakker’s father, Rick Steiner. The mind games returned on this week’s episode of TV with Gacy deploying various video and audio snippets around the WWE Performance Center to get in Breakker’s head. Gacy also burned Steiner’s Hall of Fame ring in a pit of fire. The Steiner Brothers were inducted by Breakker into the class of 2022 WWE Hall of Fame over WrestleMania weekend.

Breakker won the NXT Championship from Dolph Ziggler on the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania. The title defense against Gacy will be his first since winning the belt.

Cameron Grimes won the North American Championship in a ladder match at NXT Stand and Deliver. Last week on NXT, Grimes defeated Solo Sikoa in a singles match to retain the title. Carmelo Hayes is a former North American Champion. On this week’s show, Hayes defeated Santos Escobar with a top rope scissor kick. Hayes and Grimes confronted one another after the match. As they did, Sikoa attacked Hayes and confronted Grimes himself. The triple threat championship between the three men was made official on social media.
