SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Ace Austin is the new Impact X-Division Champion.

Austin defeated Mike Bailey and Trey Miguel in a triple threat match at Rebellion to win the title. This is his third run with the championship in Impact Wrestling. Ace Austin debuted for the company in 2019. That same year at Bound For Glory, Austin won the X-Division Championship for the first time. Austin has had memorable feuds with Tessa Blanchard and Eddie Edwards.

Rebellion is a signature Impact Wrestling PPV event that is sold out. Other matches on the card include Jay White vs. Steve Maclin vs. Chris Sabin, Jonah vs. Tomohiro Ishii, Deonna Purrazzo vs. Taya Valkyrie, Tasha Steelz vs. Rosemary for the Knockouts Championship, and Moose vs. Josh Alexander for the Impact World Championship.

Alexander has been chasing the world title since Bound For Glory last year. Alexander defeated Christian Cage to win the championship on that show, but lost it seconds later to Moose after Moose cashed in on his championship opportunity. Both men have been embroiled in a feud since then.
