[HOUR ONE]

-They opened with an excellent angle of the small venue from the upper deck as Excalibur introduced the show. Then they went right to the angle where “Hangman” Page, dressed as Tony Schiavone, attacked Samoa Joe. Excalibur said that led to tonight’s six-man tag match.

-Tony Schiavone stood mid-ring for what Excalibur said was “a very special announcement.” He said AEW Full Gear will include “a new national champion.” He was interrupted by Samoa Joe’s music. Samoa Joe walked out with Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs. He apologized for the interruption. “Houston, we have a problem,” he said. Joe directed his comments at Schiavone. Joe said Schiavone is probably going to deny he was part of the deception last week, but he doesn’t believe him. Schiavone started to explain himself. He said he respects Joe a lot. Joe cut him off with a loud “Shut up!” He said consequences have come for him. Bryan Danielson said, “This isn’t right.”

As The Opps entered the ring, Excalibur said Schiavone was having maybe too much Halloween fun at the expense of The Opps, but he didn’t think Schiavone knew Hangman was going to hit Joe with the bottle. Security ran to the ring. Joe said this just meant more people were going to get hurt. “Hangman” Page ran out for the save. The Opps dropped to ringside. Joe said this worked out well since they can take care of two problems at once. As they entered the ring again, Hook and Eddie Kingston ran out to even the odds. The Opps bailed out again.

Hangman said he is Joe’s problem. Hook told The Opps to put their Trios Title belts on the line against them tonight. Joe yelled, “You don’t talk to me that way.” Hobbs had to hold him back. Joe said it’s on, frothing at the mouth and red-faced. Hangman smiled. Schiavone said Tony Khan just made it official that the main event will be for the Trios Titles.

-Excalibur called that “a blockbuster announcement,” but not the one they were planning. He said Joe seems “gotten-to.” Hangman’s music played as he, Hook, and Kingston left the ring.

(Keller’s Analysis: They can pretend the Trios Titles being put at stake in the main event is a big deal, but the Trios Titles are not a big deal. I did like them addressing Schiavone’s obvious cooperation with Hangman impersonating him last week to gain some sort of “element of surprise” advantage so he could attack Joe from behind last week. I kind of feel like I’m just going to agree with Tony Khan that the more titles there are, the more successful and entertaining AEW will be. It’s too painful to speak out against it because it has become a parody at this point.)

(1) ORANGE CASSIDY vs. CLAUDIO CASTANOLI – Blood & Guts Advantage Battle

Excalibur explained the format of a Blood & Guts match and that this match will contribute to deciding which team enters third after the first five minute one-on-one period. Cassidy leaped at Claudio at ringside during his ring entrance twice. Schiavone said the one-man advantage is so important “because it gives you the one-man advantage during the entire match.” (That’s not really true in the sense that half of the match is even and the other half has a one-man advantage since the numbers are evened out every two minutes.) Claudio took over quickly. The bell rang 13 minutes into the hour.

Cassidy dove through the ropes at minute in, but Claudio caught him and dropped him abdomen-first over the ringside barricade. Claudio then lifted Cassidy in a vertical suplex position, walked up the steps, and threw him into the ring. Claudio gave Cassidy a Giant Swing and sent him to the floor. They cut to a double-box break at 3:00. [c/db]

Claudio tossed Cassidy to the mat. Cassidy put his hands in his pockets. Claudio lifted him into the corner and gave him an uppercut. Cassidy stood on the second rope and put his hands in his pockets again. He then took Claudio down with a head scissors takedown and a dropkick followed by a kip up. He turned a Claudio uppercut attempt into a backslide for a two count. He landed a PK and then pursued Claudio at ringside with a tornado DDT. Fans chanted, “Freshly squeezed!”

Claudio took over and applied a crossface mid-ring. He landed a running uppercut to a sitting Cassidy for a two count. Cassidy caught Claudio with a Stun Dog Millionaire out of the corner. He charged for an Orange Punch, but Claudio caught him with an uppercut. He followed up with a lift-and-drop European Uppercut for a clean win.

Excalibur said now Darby must beat Daniel Garcia and Roderick Strong must beat Jon Moxley to earn the advantage at Blood & Guts next week on Dynamite.

WINNER: Claudio in 12:00.

(Keller’s Analysis: Good match.)

-Renee Paquette interviewed Mark Briscoe, Kyle Fletcher, and Don Callis. Renee said they agreed to no physicality. She said Briscoe asked for this time. Briscoe said it can’t feel fulfilling for Fletcher to have won with a low kick. He compared it to making out with your sister. He asked Fletcher for another match with no DQ rules at Full Gear. Fletcher told Callis he might really like that. Callis said he seemed turned on. He said he loves making Fletcher happy. He told Briscoe he needs something from him. Briscoe asked if he wanted it to be “title vs. career.” Callis said he would never want his career to end prematurely. He said if he loses to Fletcher at Full Gear, he will leave The Conglomeration and join The Don Callis Family. He told him to make it about him instead of family back home. Briscoe cut him off and called him a snake. He said he isn’t losing, so he agreed to the stipulation. [c]

-Renee interviewed The Young Bucks, Don Callis, and Josh Alexander backstage. She asked the Bucks if they were now in The Don Callis Family. Callis said if it takes every last penny in his bank account, they will be treated the way they deserve. The rest of the active Don Callis Family entered. Callis introduced Kazuchika Okada. Matt Jackson said they need more time. Okada told them not to take too much time, and then he winked. Nick Jackson looked nervously toward Matt.

-Excalibur reviewed the AEW Women’s Tag Team Title tournament. He noted that Queen Aminata suffered an injury in their loss to The Sisters of Sin in the first round.

(2) WILLOW NIGHTINGALE & HARLEY CAMERON vs. MERCEDES MONE & ATHENA – Women’s Tag Team Tournament match

The bell rang 39 minutes into the hour. Athena slammed Mercedes onto Harley for a two count at 4:00. They cut to a double-box break. [c/db]

Harley took both Athena and Mercedes down with a double crucifix bomb. Willow then entered and speared both of them as soon as they stood. Willow clotheslined Athena over and over in the corner. When Mercedes had Harley in a submission hold, Willow knocked Athena onto Mercedes to break it up. Mercedes tagged in Athena who battled Willow mid-ring at 10:00.

Willow tagged in and went back and forth with Athena. Athena caught both opponents and overhead suplexed them for a near fall. Billie Starkz ran out. Excalibur called her Athena’s number one minion. Kris Statlander ran out. and clotheslined Starkz. Willow gut-wrench powerbombed Athena. Harley then entered and gave Athena her finisher for a three count. Schiavone said it was an upset. Danielson agreed.

WINNERS: Willow & Cameron 13:00 to advance to the second round. [c]

-Schiavone stood mid-ring and announced a new singles titles will be introduced at Full Gear. There will be a Casino Gaunlet match with the winner becoming the AEW National Champion. He said it’s been nearly 40 years since the National Championship has been on TBS. He said wrestler have lined up backstage to be part of it. He said Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin were the among the first to sign up.

The Hurt Syndicate, including MVP, made their entrance. Danielson talked about the rules of a Casino Gauntlet. The announcers speculated on the possibility of Shelton and Lashley being the first two to enter.

[HOUR TWO]

Schiavone told MVP this brings up an interesting scenario. MVP said they are always interesting. He listed past National Champions including Paul Orndorff, Jack Briscoe, Dusty Rhodes, Wahoo McDaniel, and Nikita Koloff. He said the prize is theirs. Schiavone asked what will happen if Shelton and Lashley face each other. MVP said the audience always wins. They were interrupted by Ricochet and GOA.

Ricochet said he wanted to make this as quick as possible. He said they are committed to preventing them from ever winning gold again. Fans chanted, “Shut the f— up!” Ricochet said they’re starting to make him angry. MVP said the only thing they’ve ever done well is get their asses kicked by them. Ricochet vowed he will walk out as the inaugural AEW National Champion. MVP said they hurt people and their music played as they invited The Demand to come get them. Ricochet and GOA stood in place on the stage at a safe distance.

-Jack Perry and Luchasaurus spoke backstage. Perry said friendship is more important than money. He said the Bucks are going through a rough patch. He stabbed a $100 bill to a table and told Luchasaurus not to touch it.

(2) DARBY ALLIN vs. DANIEL GARCIA – Blood & Guts Advantage match

Darby came out first. Mox gave Garcia a pep talk in the entrance tunnel. The bell rang 7 minutes into the hour. They fought to ringside where Darby took over with flip dive onto Garcia. He followed with a running dropkick. Danielson said it was Darby’s playground. Garcia took over and threw Darby into the ringside steps. They cut to a double-box break at 4:00. [c/db]

Back from the break, Garcia superplexed Darby off the top rope. Darby rolled through into a Scorpion Death Drop. Both were down and slow to get up. Excalibur speculated on what would happen if this match was a draw. Garcia knocked Darby off the top rope to ringside.

Garcia put Darby’s head next to the ringside steps and then kicked the steps into him. Excalibur said Darby might not even make it to Blood & Guts next week. Darby came up bleeding. Pac then clotheslined Darby at ringside. The ref didn’t see him. The ref continued to count Darby at ringside. He barely beat the ten count. He stumbled area the ring. Garcia put Darby in a Scorpion Death Lock mid-ring. Darby reversed it and Garcia tapped out.

WINNER: Darby in 13:00.

-Pac attacked Darby afterward. Darby fought back. Cassidy ran out, Wheeler Yuta then joined the fight. Claudio, Pac, Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly, and Jon Moxley made the save. Mox stomped on O’Reilly’s knee at ringside while Claudio and Pac beat up Cassidy and Darby in the ring. [c]

-FTR made their entrance. Cash Wheeler said they won a four-way match to become no. 1 contenders. He called Brodido to the ring. They cut backstage to Renee asking Stokley Hathaway what was going on. There was pounding on a door, presumably Brodido trapped behind the door. Stokely said he was trying to get them out. Back in the ring, Dax said it’s so unfortunate. He then pointed at Brodido’s family in the front row. He told Bandido’s grandma that she looks like she’s from “Day of the Dead.” After more insults, Bandido’s brother Gravity leaped at FTR. Brody King punched through the door and grabbed Stokely. Stokely panicked and fled. As FTR set up a spike piledriver, Bandido and Brody ran out. FTR fled to the back with Stokely.

-They went to ringside where Excalibur plugged the new AEW-published book about AEW history.

-A video aired on Blood & Guts.

(3) MEGAN BAYNE vs. MINA SHIRAKAWA – Blood & Guts Advantage match

Toni Storm joined in on commentary. The bell rang 37 minutes into the hour. Toni asked Excalibur to do commentary on one of her orgies sometime. She asked Danielson why he smells like hemp. They cut to a double-box break at 3:00. [c/db]

Shirakawa scored a two count after a top rope slingblade at 9:00. Marina Shafir choked Storm from behind at ringside. Bayne took advantage of the chaos to finish Shirakawa with a running sitout powerbomb for the win.

WINNER: Bayne in 10:00.

-After the match, Storm entered with a chair to stop the heel attack. The rest of the Blood & Guts competitors ran out. Mercedes stopped at ringside. Statlander attacked her. The babyfaces cleared the ring and stood together at the end. [c]

(4) THE OPPS (Samoa Joe & Powerhouse Hobbs & Katsuyori Shibata) vs. “HANGMAN” PAGE & HOOK & EDDIE KINGSTON – AEW Trios Title match

The bell rang 55 minutes into the hour with Hangman vs. Shibata. Shibata took over against Hook after he tagged in. Hobbs then tagged in. Hook fought back with wild forearms. Hobbs brushed them off and gave Hook two backbreakers. Hobbs overhead-suplexed Hook and they cut to a double-box break at 3:00. [c/db]

[OVERRUN]

Eventually Hangman tagged in and rallied against Hobbs. Chaos broke out with Joe taking out Kingston and Hook. Shibata went after Hook. Hangman and Kingston then set up a tandem move, but Hobbs pulled Hangman off the ring apron and then rammed him into the ring apron. Hobbs checked Hangman on the stage. “Cowboy Shit, my ass!” Hobbs yelled. Hobbs then fended off Hangman’s comeback and leaped off the stage with a powerslam through a table below. Fans chanted, “Holy shit!”

Back in the ring, Joe and Shibata attacked Kingston. Kingston fought back. Hobbs then returned to the ring and shoved Kingston into the corner. Hook tagged in and put Hobbs in Red Rum. Hobbs immediately powered out and put Hook in a Torture Rack. Hook quickly tapped out.

WINNERS: The Opps in 13:00 to retain the AEW Trios Titles.
