-Michael Cole introduced the event as they showed various wrestlers arriving. Then they showed a aerial view of the stadium.

-A video package narrated by Paul Levesque introduced the Rumble.

-They went to Cole and Wade Barrett at ringside.

(1) WOMEN’S ROYAL RUMBLE

(1) Charlotte

(2) Alexa Bliss

Cole said their friendship will really be tested. (This is a fun way to star the Rumble, but it’s so unlikely and feels so contrived that it undercuts it a bit.) Barrett said these two have been quietly at each other’s throats in recent weeks. They stared at each other. Bliss played to the fans early. Charlotte did the same. Charlotte picked up Bliss and set her on the top turnbuckle and told her they’re good. Charlotte pointed at the WrestleMania sign and said they’re going together. Bliss caught Charlotte in position for a Sister Abigail, but let her go. Charlotte then took Bliss down and set up a figure-four, but paused and then they hugged. Bliss leaped onto Charlotte’s back and they waited for entrant no. 3.

(3) Kiana James

James and Charlotte exchanged kicks. Charlotte lifted James and then Bliss leaped off the second rope and drove her head into the mat.

(4) Nia Jax

Cole said Jax has nnever entered the Rumble before no. 19. She headbutted a charging Bliss and clotheslined Charlotte. She landed running corner splashes on Charlotte and Bliss, then put them both in one corner and splashed them. THen she went after James. James side-stepped a charging Jax and sent her shoulder-first into the corner.

(5) Ivy Nile

Cole noted she lasted 25 minutes a few years ago in the Rumble. She went after Jax mid-ring, but couldn’t pull off a bodyslam. She went for a back suplex, but Jax blocked it and elbowed her in the corner.

(6) Lola Vice

Cole noted this is her first Rumble and plugged her match scheduled for Tuesday night. She entered the ring and hit one wrestler after another charging at her with kicks. Jax then confronted Vice as she was celebrating. Jax knocked her down and then danced to mock Vice’s celebration. James lifted Jax onto her shoulders and landed a Samoan Drop. “Can you believe that?” asked Cole. Everyone surrounded Jax and tried to eliminate her.

(7) Candice LeRae

As Candice ran out, Cole asked if she could tip the scales to get Jax out. Instead, Charlotte cut her off and Jax broke free from the others.

(8) Jordynne Grace

Grace dumped LeRae and Vice for the first two elimination. Grace then eliminated Ivy Nile. Jax went after Charlotte. Bliss intervened. Jax tossed them both around. She tried to dump Bliss. Charlotte knocked Jax over the top rope onto the ring apron. Charlotte knocked Jax down but also Bliss. Cole said it was accidental. Charlotte looked sad.

(9) Becky Lynch

Cole said Lynch said her lawyer had lobbied for a good entry number and asked Barrett how she should feel about this. (Lawyer’s lobby for a better number to be randomly drawn out of the tumbler?) Lynch and Charlotte battled at ringisde.

(10) Sol Ruca

Cole said she is “uber athletic” and noted her win over Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Lynch and Ruca met mid-ring. “The present versus the future,” said Cole. Cole compared Ruca to Lita.

(11) Roxanne Perez

She and Lynch battled.

(12) Maxxine Dupri

Dupri went after Lynch right away.

(13) Nattie

Dupri put Nattie in an anklelock. Lynch threw Dupri out seconds later. Lynch patted Nattie on the back, then tried to throw her out. Nattie blocked her, lifted her, and eliminated Lynch. Short night for Lynch. Cole noted Nattie has been in all nine women’s Rumbles.

(14) Liv Morgan

Charlotte clotheslined Perez and Morgan.

(15) Lash Legend

Barrett said Lash is “a human cheat code.” She gave Bliss and Perez a double chokeslam and pointed at the WrestleMania sign. Legend then eliminated Jordynne Grace.

(16) Zelina Vega

The graphic called her just “Zelina,” but her entrance video said “Zelina Vega.”

(17) Raquel Rodriguez

Cole said this is the slot that Charlotte had when she won the Rumble back in 2020. (Someone needs to give everyone a statistics course because this talk of certain numbers meaning something are largely nonsense. There’s simply a incremental benefit to entering later than sooner. That’s it. There are no “lucky numbers.”) Morgan, James, and Perez battled on the ring apron. Rodriguez kicked James to the floor to eliminate her. Raquel, Morgan, and Perez hugged mid-ring.

(18) Chelsea Green

Green was accompanied by Alba Fyre. Fyre grabbed Green’s legs to try to pull her to safety, but several others pulled Green and Fyre into the ring. Rodriguez “eliminated” Fyre.

(19) Giulia

Green stood on the back of a crawling Fyre at ringside to avoid elimination.

(20) Iyo Sky

Cole called Sky “the best wrestler on the planet today.” Sky got in a flurry of offense and then pointed at the WrestleMania sign.

(21) Asuka

Asuka got in some offense in the center of the ring.

(22) Rhea Ripley

Green and Ripley battled mid-ring. Zelina and Giulia battled on the ring apron. Giulia kicked Zelina to the floor to eliminate her. Perez went for Pop Rocks on Ripley, but Ripley countered and sent her to the floor onto others with a Razor’s Edge to eliminate her. Rodriguez and Morgan attacked Ripley. Sky intervened.

(23) Bayley

Baylry battled with Charlotte mid-ring in a battle of chops.

(24) Jacy Jayne

The match is a repetition of whoever enters stands mid-ring and gets in a fight with one or two others while everyone else looks like they’ve been completely knocked out on their backs in the corners. A graphic noted 12 were active and 12 had been eliminated at this point. Morgan eliminated Nattie with an Oblivion.

(25) Nikki Bella

Nikki battled Rodriguez and took her down. Morgan then gave her an Oblivion.

(26) Lyra Valkyria

Valkyria knocked Giulia off the ring apron, eliminating her. Bayley and Valkyria celebrated together.

(27) Kelani Jordan

Jordan landed a corkscrew moonsault onto Jayne.

(28) Kairi Sane

Kairi almost bumped into Asuka on the ring apron. Sky shoved Kairi into Asuka. Asuka held onto Kairi’s arms. Kairi ended up aiming for Sky but knocking Asuka off the ring apron, eliminating her. Barrett said it was clearly accidental. Sky dumped a distraught Kairi over the top rope to eliminate her.

(29) Brie Bella

Brie got a big pop and fans chanted “Yes! Yes!” Brie went on a string of offense and played to the crowd. Brie and Nikki hugged mid-ring. Morgan and Raquel attacked them.

(30) Tiffany Stratton

So no Bianca Belair. Cole noted Tiffany had been out of action since the fall with a knee injury. She leaped off the top rope with a Swanton onto a crowd mid-ring. Tiffany and Charlotte squared off. Tiffany pointed at her wrist signaling “It’s Tiffy time.” Charlotte chopped away at her. Raquel and Morgan took Charlotte down and high-fived.

The Bellas squared off with Bayley and Valkyria. The graphic noted 14 were active and 16 eliminated. The Bellas eliminated Bayley and Valkyria, then celebrated as fans did the “Yes!” chant. Lash backdropped both Bellas over the top rope to the floor. Lash precariously leaned over the top rope to celebrate and taunt them. Charlotte went after her. Cole noted that 8 competitors remained.

Charlotte and lash battled on the ring apron. Lash kicked her in the face and knocked her to the floor. “What an incredible Rumble for Lash Legends!” said Cole. Cole noted it was a historic Rumble appearance for Charlotte at 59 minutes, 50 seconds.

The remaining seven – Sky, Ripley, Morgan, Raquel, Ruca, Stratton, and Lash – stared each other down for a few seconds and then went at it. Lash and Sky battled on the ring apron. Lash eliminated Sky after a battle on the ring apron.

Lash and Raquel squared off. Lash caught Rodriguez out of mid-air and landed a fallaway slam and then kipped up. Riley charged at Lash with a clothesline and eliminated her. Rodriguez then lifted and slammed Ripley hard over the top rope onto the ring apron. That was the hardest impact of the match and it looked rough. As Rodrigues celebrated, Morgan eliminated her. She looked down at Rodriguez and laughed. Barrett said he’d like to be a fly on the wall of the Judgement Day Clubhouse later tonight.

Stratton, Ruca, and Morgan looked at each other and then went at it. They took rapid-fire shots at each other. Tiffany went for a Best Moonsault Ever. Ruca moved but she landed on Morgan. Morgan popped up, though, and went for Oblivion. Ruca gave Morgan and Stratton a double Soul Snatcher. Ruca tried to eliminate both Morgan and Stratton. All three tumbled over the top. They all got back onto the ring apron and battled. Ruca went for a Soul Snatcher, Stratton shoved her to the floor. Morgan then gave Stratton an Oblivion to win.

WINNER: Liv Morgan in 67:00.

(Keller’s Analysis: Most of the match was formulaic, but at least the roster is deep enough and they played up alliances going into the match well enough that there were plenty of subplots to keep things interesting on that level.)

-They showed Oba Femi warming up backstage for the men’s Rumble. [c]

-Je’Von Evans was shown warming up.

(2) A.J. STYLES vs. GUNTHER – Styles Agrees to Retire If He Loses

The bell 37 minutes into the hour. After some traditional back and forth matwork, Gunther threw Styles violently to the floor and then threw him around ringside. Cole said there were 25,000 in Riyadh. Gunther battered Styles in the ring. At 6:00 Styles caught Gunther with a kick on a backdrop attempt. He landed Pele Kick a minute later. Both were down and slow to get up.

Gunther blocked a Styles Clash set-up. Styles tried again, but Gunther kicked out of it and the hit Gunther with a clothesline for a two count. Styles went for a Calf Crusher. Gunther escaped and chopped Styles hard in the chest.

Styles finally applied a Calf Crusher mid-ring at 12:00. Gunther maneuvered out and applied a sleeper. Styles sent Gunther through the ropes to break free. Gunther tried for a superplex, but Styles slipped out. They countered each other a couple times. Styles landed a powerbomb and scored a two count on a stack cover. Styles landed a springboard 450 splash onto Gunther. He followed with. Styles Clash for a near fall. The fans were on their feet.

Styles applied a sleeper. Gunther mule kicked Styles and then powerbombed Styles for a dramatic near fall. “Not this way!” said Cole. “That damn, dirty Gunther.” Gunther stomped away at Styles. The ref told Styles he can stop the match and he backed Gunther away. Gunther moved back in and chopped away at Styles hard. The ref angrily ordered Gunther back away. Fans chanted “Let’s Go A.J.!” Gunther went back on the attack including a hard lariat to drop Styles.

Styles surged with offense against Gunther in the corner. Styles brushed off his chest with his hands and then went for a Phenomenal Forearm. Gunther caught him and then put him in a sleeper. Styles began to fight back and fans cheered. Gunther then relocked his grip and Styles went down. Styles elbowed Gunther, but Gunther just shifted to a new leverage position. Styles faded and his arm went limp. The ref lifted and dropped it. The fans were stunned and silent after the bell. After ten seconds, they played Gunther’s music. They cut to fans reacting with shock in the crowd as Gunther laughed uproariously.

WINNER: Gunther in 25:00 to end Styles’s wrestling career.

(Keller’s Analysis: A very good Gunther-style match start to finish. The story beats of the match with Styles mounting comebacks but Gunther thwarting him built well throughout.)

-Styles stood and took off his gloves and almost placede them on the mat, but then put them back on. Fans cheered. He raised his arms up and fans cheered and chanted his name. He was emotional as he soaked up the moment before finally rolling out of the ring. He stopped and then got back in the ring and stood on the second rope and raised his arms for one last cheer. His music began playing. [c]

-They showed Rey Mysterio, Penta, and Dragon Lee backstage.

(3) DREW MCINTYRE vs. SAMI ZAYN – WWE Title match

The bell rang 22 minutes into the hour. A couple minutes in, Samileaped over the top rope and flipped onto McIntyre. Both were down and slow to get up.  Drew landed a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker back in the ring. Drew landed a neckbreaker a minute later. He kipped up and then stared down at Sami as he set up a Claymore. Sami blocked him with a big boot to the face and then a Blue Thunder Bomb. Drew then landed a White Noise off the top rope for a near fall.

Drew landed three Future Shock DDTs and then scored a near fall. Barrett noted that Sami’s shoulder’s barely raised and he seemed physically on empty. Drew clotheslined Sami in the corner twice. On the third, Sami went for a Helluva Kick. Drew ducked and landed a Claymore. Sami draped his foot on the bottom rope at two.

Drew cornered the ref and chewed him out. Sami recovered and connected with a Helluva Kick for a near fall at 13:00. Drew powerbombed Sami onto the announce desk. The ref called for medics to check on Sami. Fans chanted, “This is awesome!”

Back in the ring, Drew yelled that Sami doesn’t have what it takes. Sami surprised Drew with an exploder suplex. He then charged, but Drew landed a Claymore. Drew backed into the corner, looking intense and sinister and crazy-eyed. When Sami sat up, Drew gave him a Claymore for a three count.

WINNER: McIntyre in 16:00 to retain the WWE Title.

(Keller’s Analysis: That was an intense match, especially the closing minutes. What a downer for the crowd two matches in a row. A babyface has to win the men’s Rumble after this. Drew was great with his intensity and ruthlessness. I’m not sure if this ends the Sami World Title storyline for next year’s WrestleMania or is a chapter that shifts it onto a new path.) [c]

(4) MEN’S ROYAL RUMBLE

(1) Oba Femi

Barrett said some of the smartest men in this industry have called Oba the future. “The question is does the future begin today in the Royal Rumble?” he said.

(2) Bron Breakker

Breakker walked out with Heyman. A man in a black outfit with a hood attacked Breakker at ringside. He threw him into the ringside steps, kicked him in the face, and landed a stomp. Cole said the last time they saw this, it was Austin Theory. He threw Breakker into the ring.

The bell rang 55 minutes into the hour. Femi charged at Breakker and clotheslined him over the top rope to eliminate him. Cole said Heyman’s plan went up in smoke. Breakker loooked around like he didn’t know what happened.

(3) Solo Sikoa

Solo and Oba exchanged strikes mid-ring. Solo threw Oba shoulder-first into the ringpost.

(4) Rey Mysterio

Rey went for a 619, but Solo lifted Rey onto his shoulders. Oba kicked Solo in the face.

(5) Rusev

Cole noted Rusev made his debut in 2014 in the Rumble match and once lasted over 35 minutes. Rusev met Ova mid-ring. They exchanged strikes. Rusev landed two dropkicks and let out a roar. Rey tripped Rusev and connected with a 619. Oba then shoved Rusev over the top rope to the floor. Solo kicked Oba. Oba gave him a backbreaker and then clotheslined him over the top rope to eliminate him. Rey hit Oba with a 619. Oba brushed it off and then grabbed Rey bu his mask and tossed him onto the ring apron. Oba then knocked Rey off the apron to the floor. Cole said this is feeling like flashbacks to 2020 when Lesnar eliminated 13 men in a row in the Rumble.

(6) Matt Cardona

Cardona lifted his knees when Oba charged at him and then dropkicked him. He landed a boot to the face. Oba caught him mid-air on a Rough Rider attempt and gave him a Fall From Grace. Barrett said that was the highest powerbomb Cardona has experienced. Oba tossed Cardona over the top to the floor to eliminate him. Cole said he’s a future World Champion and future main eventer and will be the face of the company for many years to come.

(7) Damien Priest

Priest ran to the ring and met Oba in the middle. They battled back and forth. Oba blocked a clothesline.

(8) Je’Von Evans

Cole said this is Evans’ first Rumble. Cole noted he has quite a history with Oba in NXT. Evans went after Priest at first, ducking kicks and landing his own. Oba took Priest down. Evans went for a springboard cutter, but Oba caught him. Evans tried to bounce on the top rope, but Oba shoved him down. Evans held on. Priest then grabbed Ebans on the top rope. Evans broke free and continued his athletic “bouncy” arsenal. Cole said he doesn’t think he knows how momentous this moment is.

(9) Mr. Iguana

Oba set up a move on Iguana, but Evans kicked Oba. Priest then faced off with Iguana. Priest chokeslammed Iguana and his stuffed iguana with the alternate hand.

(10) Trick Williams

Trick clotheslined Priest with his white jacket still on. He then eliminated Mr. Iguana. Trick face-planted Priest and let out a yell. He eyed Evans and Oba. He kicked at Oba. Evans kicked Oba. Trick and Evans stereo superkicked Oba. Trick tossed Evans over the top rope. Evans held on.

(11) Cody Rhodes

Cole said Cody is looking to become only the third man to win three Rumble. Fans sang Cody’s song as Cody hit a series of offensive moves on the wrestlers in the ring including a Cutter to Priest. He tossed his weight lifting belt into the crowd. Cody and Oba exchanged strikes.

(12) El Grande Americano

Americano loaded his mask wtih a metal plate and headbutted Evans and Trick.

(13) El Grande Original

Americano looked confused. Barrett asked if Original is the guy who stomped Bron earlier. Americano and Original battled mid-ring. Original tried to unmask Americano. Original then gave Americano a German suplex. Americano tossed Original over the top rope and tried to unmask him. Original head scissored Americano to the floor to eliminate him. Williams knocked Original off the ring apron to eliminate him. Cole said that was strange. Cody went after Williams and tossed him over the top to eliminate him. Priest gave Cody a South of Heaven.

(14) Royce Keys (Powerhouse Hobbs)

The graphic first said “Powerhouse Hobbs.” Then it switched to his new name. Barrett and Cole said the rumors were true. Cole said he’s followed Keys’s career and he is a powerhouse. Keys eliminated Priest with a clothesline. Keys then gave Evans a spinebuster. Cody and Keys went at it. Cole said they’ve had run-ins in the past.

(15) Austin Theory

Theory ran into the ring and kicked Evans. Cody went after Theory, but Theory clipped his knee. Some fans chanted “Austin Theory!” Theory and Evans battled.

(16) Bronson Reed

Cole said Theory now has some help. They worked together against Oba.

(17) Ilja Dragunov

Cody tried to toss Dragunov early. Dragunov fought back and dropped Cody. Cole wondered if Heyman regrouped in the back with The Vision and picked someone else to get behind to win.

(18) La Parka

Barrett said he’s a legendary character in Lucha Libre dating back to another incarnation in WCW. Barrett ran through the background. He danced around a bit.

(19) Dragon Lee

Dragunov and Lee battled mid-ring. Lee then gave Reed a DDT. Oba was trying to kick Theory off the ring apron.

(20) Logan Paul

Reed and Hobbs. Theory, Logan, and Reed worked together. Reed clotheslined Keys over the top rope to eliminate him. Reed tossed Lee over the top rope onto La Parka.

(21) L.A. Knight

Cole said they hadn’t seen him since Reed gave him a Tsunami through a car. He went right after all three members of The Vision. Knight eliminated Theory when he backdropped him as he charged. He gave a leaping neckbreaker to Logan. Knight then charged at Reed and gave him a BFT. He followed by knocking Reed over the top rope with a clothesline. Logan stood and Knight smiled at him. Cole said Heyman thought he had it all figured out.

(22) Brock Lesnar

Cole said, “Oh my god, speaking of Paul Heyman.” Heyman accompanied Lesnar. Barrett said they’re about to witness a mass extinction event. Lesnar began suplexing wrestlers. He let out a roar and then kicked Dragunov and clotheslined him hard. He gave Evans an F5. Oba then eyed Lesnar and they approached each other mid-ring.

(23) The Miz

The graphic noted 8 were active and 15 had been eliminated. Cody, Dragunov, and Knight went after Lesnar. Lesnar no-sold Dragunov’s chops and eliminated him. He gave Cody a back suplex. Then same to Knight. Oba approached Lesnar again.

(24) Rey Fenix

Lesnar gave Oba a German suplex. Lesnar then gave Lee an F5 and eliminated him. Oba charged at Lesnar, but Lesnar ducked him and smiled. Cole said Heyman out here is like he threw The Vision to the curb. Logan nearly got eliminated by Oba and was hanging on. Oba tried to drop him, but Lesnar dumped Oba over the top rope to eliminate him.

(25) Jey Uso

As Jey came out, Lesnar gave Logan a German suplex. Cole didn’t even call it, which was a key moment in the match. Instead, he talked about Jey winning last year. Cody and Knight clotheslined Lesnar over the top rope to eliminate him as Jey’s music played and he was still making his entrance. Only six were left – Jey, Cody, Knight, Miz, and Evans. Jey did a second round of dancing to his music. It’s kinda crazy how Cole undersold Lesnar suplexing Logan and then barely reacted to Lesnar being eliminated.

(26) Roman Reigns

Reigns and Jey squared off. Reigns smiled and motioned like they should play Jey’s theme again. Reigns then punched Jey as soon as the music started again. “No time to play games in the Rumble, son,” said Cole. Reigns hit Miz with a Superman Punch. Then same to Logan. Then he speared Miz and eliminated him. Cody approached Reigns.

(27) Jacob Fatu

Cody went after Fatu at ringside. Fatu threw him into the ringside steps and ringpost. Fatu gave Evans a pop-up Samoan Drop in the ring. Reigns eyed him. Cody went after Fatu, then turned to Reigns. Jey and Reigns gave a 1D to Cody. Reigns stomped on Logan and then kicked Knight in the corner.

(28) Penta

Reigns went for a Superman Punch, but Knight ducked and delivered a BFT. Knight and Cody battled. Cody dropkicked Knight off the ring apron to eliminate him. Fans booed. Fatu then went after Cody.

(29) Randy Orton

Orton powerslammed Jey and Penta. Orton gave Jey and Penta draping DDTs. He signaled for an RKO< but Logan went after him from behind. Orton gave him an RKO. Penta went after Orton, but of course played to the crowd first, so when he springboarded off the middle rope, Orton gave him an RKO.

(30) Gunther

Cole said this could be one of the most historic nights in pro wrestling history if Gunther won the Rumble after retiring Styles. It was Orton, Evans, Cody, Fatu, Gunther, Reigns, and Jey. The screen noted Evans had been in the match over 40 minutes. Orton tossed out Evans. Gunther then knocked Penta off the top rope. Orton gave Gunther an RKO. Cody eyed Orton. Cody lifted Gunther and then Orton kicked Gunther in the gut twice. Cody then gave Orton a cutter that was intended for Gunther. Fatu superkicked Cody and tossed him over the top. Cody held on and pulled himself back, but Drew showed up at ringside and punched Cody, so he crashed to the floor. Barrett said that eliminated Cody facing Drew. Roman then tossed out Fatu as Fatu was staring at Drew. Jey tried to eliminate Reigns, but Reigns held on. Reigns speared Jey and the eliminated Jey.

It came down to Orton, Reigns, Logan, and Gunther. This is a solid final four. Gunther was holding his left knee and stretching it. Everyone sat up in a corner and eyed each other. Barrett said there is no favorite at this point. They began to fight. Logan charged at Reigns, but Reigns ducked and eliminated Logan. Orton gave Reigns an RKO. Gunther tossed Orton out. It came down to Gunther and Reigns.

Reigns backdropped Gunther onto the ring apron. Gunther came back into the ring and put Reigns in a sleeper. Reigns struggled to grab the top rope and try to pry himself loose. Reigns escaped and went for a Superman Punch. Gunther ducked and applied a sleeper again. Reigns broke free and speared Gunther and then eliminated him.

Pyro blasted as Reigns soaked up cheers. Cole said everyoen was standing and no one had left the stadium.

WINNER: Reigns in 56:00.

(Keller’s Analysis: Good Rumble. Not top tier, but just under that. They delivered on the stories they were building up in the weeks leading up to it. Roman winning now will lead to Reigns deciding between Drew and C.M. Punk. Punk was on the pre-show panel but not involved otherwise. With Drew costing Cody Rhodes a chance to continue in the match and then Drew’s presence distracting Fatu and leaving himself vulnerable to be tossed out, that points to more with Drew, Cody, and Fatu, perhaps a Triple Threat at WrestleMania, but that’s a long ways off. The Vision situation didn’t play out as expected, with Breakker being eliminated right away by the mystery stomper guy, who may or may not have been Austin Theory; I suspect they will address that Theory was present with Heyman backstage during the attack to eliminate him or they will note that he wasn’t around anyone else in The Vision when that happened to cast suspicion. Oba Femi was featured and protected the most among the newer wrestlers, and then Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams were featured and protected at a level lower. Royce Keys (Powerhouse Hobbs) was slotted lower than them, it seemed, which makes sense at this point as he’s not as well known to WWE up close and they’re going to see what they have with him. Lesnar was dominant so they could go to Lesnar vs. Oba quickly. There’s still a path for Oba to win the Chamber and face Drew, especially if Drew deals with Cody and Fatu sooner and then Cody and Fatu split off in a new direction after that.)
