SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

WWE returned to Los Angeles on Sunday night for the Hell in a Cell PPV. Included was Lesnar vs. Taker in a HIAC match, all titles on the line, including John Cena’s Open Challenge, and more big matches.

WWE Hell in a Cell News & Notes 10/25

– Brock Lesnar beat The Undertaker with a low-blow into a third F5 to win the third match of their recent series.

Afterward, Taker was given the “respected legend” treatment, which led to Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt Family interrupting. Bray and Co. took apart Taker, then carried him out of the ring to close the PPV.

– Taker vs. Lesnar featured significant blood from both wrestlers, a rare sight for a WWE match. The ringside doctor entered the Cell structure twice to check both wrestlers’s cuts during the match. The second time, Lesnar tossed the doctor aside and continued the match.

– WWE is advertising next month’s Survivor Series as the 25th Anniversary of Taker’s WWE debut. WWE stopped short of advertising Taker for the PPV, though.

– Alberto Del Rio returned to WWE and promptly won the U.S. Title from John Cena in the Open Challenge. Alberto won a relatively quick match over Cena.

Alberto’s return also included the return of Zeb Colter, who introduced Alberto and formed an alliance with his former enemy.

– Seth Rollins retained the WWE World Hvt. Title over Big Red Kane, which carried the stipulation that Corporate Kane is “relieved of his duties” as The Authority’s Director of Operations.

– In other title matches, New Day retained the Tag Titles over The Dudleys, Kevin Owens retained the Intercontinental Title over Ryback, and Charlotte retained the Divas Title over Nikki Bella.

– Roman Reigns beat Bray Wyatt in a lengthy Hell in a Cell match positioned as the second match of the PPV.

– On the pre-show, Dolph Ziggler & Neville & Cesaro beat King Barrett & Sheamus & Rusev in a six-man tag match. Cesaro shined with trademark offense leading to Neville’s Red Arrow finisher.

– Throughout the PPV, WWE showed various celebrities sitting in the Los Angeles crowd.
