Shinsuke Nakamura is the new NXT champion, defeating Samoa Joe in the main event of “NXT Takeover: Brooklyn” on Saturday night.

Nakamura and Joe battled for 20-plus minutes, including Nakamura kicking out of the Musclebuster and Joe kicking out of the Kinshasa. But, Nakamura was able to land a second Kinshasa to secure the pin and the win.

Nakamura is the ninth NXT champion in the WWE brand’s history, ending Joe’s run that started with a surprise house show victory over Finn Balor on April 21.

– Nakamura’s title victory was preceded by an epic ring entrance with a live violin.
