“THE GOLDEN RULE… HOLD THE GOLD.”

For what seems like the 100th time in the past few months, tonight in Los Angeles the Bar will defend their Raw tag-team titles against the reunited Shield. There is no denying that the chemistry between Sheamus, Cesaro, Seth, and Dean is quite strong, and every time they all step into the ring together magic is usually made. However, the outcome may be somewhat predictable considering the desire to have all members of The Shield carrying gold. It doesn’t help that Sheamus has an injured neck and may possibly be sidelined for a bit. Do they pull the trigger? Guess you’ll have to tune in to find out.

“YOU’RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME”

It shouldn’t take too long for a returning Paige to realize how much the division has changed in her absence. The last two weeks she’s made her presence felt with the help of Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose but was targeting the Empress Asuka the best idea? The answer is no, because as previously stated in numerous of my aforementioned Primers: NO ONE IS READY FOR ASUKA. As for tonight Paige hits another wall called Sasha Banks. The Boss may not be as high value as she once was in the division, but she’s still a fierce competitor and doesn’t respond well to being attacked. Raw Women’s champion Alexa Bliss meanwhile must be enjoying all of the chaos caused by the Absolution faction because it keeps the belt on her shoulder. For now…

“REDBONE; STAY WOKE”

Has the time finally arrived? Has the universe once again cracked for Matt Hardy? Is he about to see the light in the darkness that at one time surged him as the most popular figure in all of sports entertainment? That’s what the WWE is teasing, and apparently at house shows he’s been a big hit. Funny thing is that after all of his triumphs and failures since returning earlier this year at Wrestlemania 33, it was a loss to the Eater of Worlds Bray Wyatt that officially sent him over the edge. That my friends…is SAVAGE.

“SOME SAMOANS NAMED JOE”

-Roman Reigns has already proven that he can be a fighting champion, disposing of the Drifter Elias in his first defense of his Intercontinental Championship last Monday. Post-match the Submission Machine Samoa Joe locked in his rear-naked choke OUTTANOWHERE on Roman and put the Big Dawg to sleep. With another open challenge most likely coming this evening (Jason Jordan wishes to answer the call) will Joe look to send another message? He’s had Roman’s number since debuting, and has yet to taste main roster gold.

-Finn Balor may be destroying trolls and smarks on twitter, but who knows what any of that means for his involvement on the flagship show. Balor can’t seem to build up any momentum after a victory without immediately being buried by creative; specifically creative that feeds him to the Big Red Machine Kane. Hopefully, Balor bounces back tonight.

-Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will be appearing on Raw in a few weeks, perhaps we will find out more about his future then?

-The battle for the purple-brand rages on as another Fatal-Four Way occurs to determine who will face-off in a number one contenders match. Tonight’s competitors: Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, Mustafa Ali, and Cedric Alexander. Rich Swann has already won his qualifier. Can any of these men handle that? Also this is all in chase of the division champion Enzo Amore. Whether you like Enzo or not, he did call out New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo for being an idiot. For that, he’s earned a cheer or two from me tonight.

-Los Angeles is The Miz’s hometown, but he’s off in London playing a Marine. Too bad.

-Braun Strowman got one over on Kane after the Big Red Machine nearly killed the Monster Among Men with a chair shot to the neck. Has this feud finally subsided? Or is an inferno match the only way to settle it?

-Kurt Angle and Stephanie McMahon continue to have a shaky relationship. The Game Triple-H and Kurt have obviously left a door open for unfinished business. Until then…

Staples Center is home to some of the greatest moments in WWE history. Will that trend continue tonight?
