MLW announces location for Battle Riot

MLW hires two talents to backstage team

MLW Battle Riot IV will take place from New York City on June 23. Tickets go on-sale to the public on March 22.

The company announced the news during this week’s Super Fight, which aired on YouTube. At Battle Riot 3 last year, Alexander Hammerstone won the Battle Riot match and earned a shot at theWorld Heavyweight Championship. In that match, he defeated Jacob Fatu to win that title. Battle Riot is a specialty match in MLW. 41 MLW fighters engage in a fight and elimination occurs via pinfall, submission, or being thrown over the top rope.

At this week’s Super Fight event, Alexander Hammerstone squared off against Davey Richards for the World Championship. Richard Holliday sat ringside during the match with Alicia Atout. Holliday is owed a world title match and attacked Hammerstone last month. Hammerstone and Holliday were partners and friends in The Dynasty faction. Holliday got physically involved during the match and bloodied Hammerstone before the show ended.

Other matches included Nzo vs. KC Navarro and a triple threat match for the National Openweight Championship between ACH, Calvin Tankman, and Alex Kane. 5150 vs. The Von Erich’s for the Tag Team Championships was supposed to take place on the Super Fight show. The match was indefinitely postponed after 5150 attacked their opponents before the match began. 5150 injured The Von Erich’s in the attack and they were not able to participate in the bout.

No matches have been announced for Battle Riot at this time.
