SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

AEW will be running a bit overtime on TBS tomorrow night for Dynamite, but it’s all by design according to Tony Khan.

Tuesday afternoon on Twitter, Khan announced that due to strong ratings, great fans, and a stellar card for Wednesday’s show that they would go over their usual allotted time, but that it might not be by much.

“Thanks to our great fans, great ratings, and a great card for matches set for Wednesday Night Dynamite, the TBS Network granted us an overrun for AEW Dynamite tomorrow. It may just be a few minutes, but whatever happens there’s a chance we’ll run past 10pm EST tomorrow on Dynamite!”

In addition to the overrun news, Tony Khan announced that C.M. Punk would face Penta for the first time ever.

Last week on Twitter, Punk called out a handful of names, asking them to wrestle. Penta was included on that list as was Kyle O’Reilly, Wheeler Yuta, Tony Nese, Dustin Rhodes, Bryan Danielson, The Young Bucks, Dax Harwood, and Cash Wheeler.

Other matches on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite include Samoa Joe vs. Minoru Suzuki, Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus vs. ReDragon for the AEW Tag Team Championship, Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland vs. Ricky Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs, MJF vs. Shawn Dean, Eddie Kingston, Santana, & Ortiz vs. The Jericho Appreciation Society, and more.

This week’s Dynamite kicks off a big primetime television week for AEW. On Friday, AEW Rampage will air earlier than usual, live, and will feature a Texas Death Match between Adam Cole and Adam Page for the AEW World Championship.
