Viewership of AEW Battle of the Belts 2 dropped significantly compared to the inaugural event in January. Saturday’s show was viewed by an average of 527,000 people — a steep decline from 704,000 average viewers on January 8. In the adult 18-49 demographic, Saturday’s show drew a .18 rating, down from .27 in January. The only demographic that saw an increased rating is men 18-34. Saturday’s show drew a .19 rating in that demo, up from .18 in January.

Battle of the Belts 2 was anchored by three championship matches — Sammy Guevara vs. Scorpio Sky for the TNT Championship, Jonathan Gresham vs. Dalton Castle for the Ring of Honor World Championship, and Thunder Rosa vs. Nyla Rose for the AEW Women’s World Championship. Guevara defeated Sky to win the TNT Championship for a third time, Gresham beat Castle to retain the ROH title, and Rosa defeated Rose to retain her AEW Women’s Championship in what was her first title defense since winning the championship from Britt Baker in March.

The first Battle of the Belts event featured Guevara against Dustin Rhodes for the Interim TNT Championship, Baker defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against Riho, and an FTW Championship between Ricky Starks and Matt Sydal.

The night before on a special live episode of AEW Rampage, “Hangman” Adam Page defeated Adam Cole in a Texas Deathmatch to retain his AEW World Championship. On that show, the Blackpool Combat Club defeated The Gunn Club as well.
