WINNER: Tomohiro Ishii (6 pts) in 18:00. (****1/4)

(Radican’s Analysis: What a war! These two traded bombs from start to finish. The match was filled with fighting spirit spots and big counter sequences. Ishii does this style of match so well and it was a lot of fun to watch these two tear down the house, especially with Robinson showing a new edge to his character. Robinson could never connect with the Left Hand of God and in the end Ishii strung together his signature offense and got the win. I wasn’t a fan of the headbutts. Those aren’t necessary.)

(Radican’s Analysis: The crowd got into it late, but Cobb looked stupid for falling for Taichi’s lame traps during the first part of the match. The finishing sequence came off awkward as well as it looked like Taichi was going to spit something in Cobb’s face, but he didn’t spit anything so Cobb just beat him with Tour of the Islands.)

(Radican’s Analysis: Great stuff from both guys here. White went after Shingo’s neck early and it paid off in the end. It started slow and there was a lot of interference, but this got really good late and it was clear Shingo likely would have won if not for Gedo’s constant interference when White was in trouble.)

WINNER: Jon Moxley (10 pts) in 17:00. (****)

(Radican’s Analysis: Great stuff from both men. Naito tried to get Moxley frustrated early, but Moxley got on track and although they had some sequences that didn’t come off smooth, they put together a really exciting brawling style of match with some great counter exchanges and near falls down the stretch.)

Moxley put over Naito after the match and called him loco. Moxley said this is the moment that people doubted him change their minds. Moxley said this is the last chance to get on the bandwagon. Moxley said he has a message to all of the obstacles that stand before him beyond this tournament. Moxley said, “I will destroy you. I will not be denied. I refuse to lose.” Moxley then closed by promising to win G1 Climax 29. What a promo!

The camera followed Moxley backstage. He told Umino to cut a promo while he holds up his middle fingers to everyone in the universe that deserves one. Moxley held up his middle fingers and Umino said Moxley will win G1 in English. Moxley said Umino is a real panty dropper and he couldn’t have said it any better himself.

Overall thoughts: This was a very good night of B block action. Moxley is running away from the field at this point at 5-0. Juice Robinson and Tomohiro Ishii are in shouting distance at six points and then there’s a bunch of people behind him with four points.

I’ve been really impressed with Robinson in this tournament. He has looked good in every match and he absolutely brought it against Ishii tonight. I have a feeling that his match against Moxley on the final night of B block action on Aug. 11 is going to be something special.

The main event between Moxley and Naito was really good. I really enjoyed Naito trying to get Moxley frustrated before the match and that lead into the match starting hot and heavy and never really letting up. They had some spots that didn’t come across smooth late, but overall this was a fantastic match to end the show. Moxley’s post match promo was really good and I would love to see him win G1 and come back in January to challenge for Okada’s title. Make sure you stick around for the end of the show for Moxley’s promo with Umino. It was hilarious.
