Ring of Honor confirmed Wednesday that “Mr. ROH” Roderick Strong will end his ROH run with this weekend’s “Best in the World” shows.

Strong faces Mark Briscoe on the BITW PPV this Friday and then Dalton Castle on the post-PPV TV tapings this Saturday.

PWTorch learned earlier this year that Strong was leaning towards leaving ROH when his contract expired in June. This was especially the case after dropping the TV Title to Tomohiro Ishii in Japan in February.

When the BITW Weekend rosters were released in May, PWTorch learned that Strong was likely to wrap up his ROH run after the TV tapings.

ROH said in Wednesday’s announcement that Strong informed company officials of his plans to leave the company “to pursue other opportunities.”

ROH is planning a special farewell for Strong at the TV taping on Saturday.

Strong talked to ROH’s website about his ROH memories in an interview on ROHWrestling.com.
