SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

TOP TIER FEUDS…

(1) STING, CODY RHODES, & DARBY ALLIN vs. TEAM TAZ

New Developments: With Darby Allin scheduled to defend the TNT title against Brian Cage next week, a weigh-in took place between both wrestlers. Tony Schiavone introduced Cage first, who came to the ring with Team Taz. Darby entered the ring but refused to get on the scale after Cage. Darby said he had been “dealing with shit from people like Cage his whole life.” He said he knew why Team Taz was there, implying that they were going to beat him down. Darby grabbed his skateboard and said, “let’s get to the fun part.” Before a brawl ensued, Sting’s music hit and he entered the ring. Team Taz retreated to the back as Darby and Sting left the ring together.

Highs & Lows: Darby’s promo was short, yet believable. Despite his limited mike time, Darby knows how to keep his mystique without sounding corny. His presentation as a babyface has been excellent. He knew what the heels were there to do and didn’t allow them to outsmart him. He was ready to fight Team Taz, which made him seem like a badass. The alliance between Sting and Darby has done nothing but elevate Darby to a higher position on the roster.

Length of Feud: November 7th, 2020

Forecast & Prediction: It’s hard to tell where Cody fits into this feud at the moment, as he seems to be branching off to interact with outside stars like Snoop Dogg and Shaq. However, it’s becoming clearer that Darby and Sting will team together to face two members of Team Taz in the future. Sting should be victorious in his return match and can then go on the put a heel over later.

SECOND TIER FEUDS…

(1) PAC vs. EDDIE KINGSTON

New Developments: Kenny Omega defeated Rey Fenix in an AEW world title match. After, Eddie Kingston and his family were seen beating down PAC and Pentagon Jr. in the back.

Highs & Lows: So far, this feud has only been propelled by beat downs and run-ins. It’s becoming less clear as to why these factions are fighting each other. AEW needs to establish that there is a personal issue between PAC and Kingston before adding any more physicality.

Length of Feud: November 19th, 2020

Forecast & Prediction: This seemingly can’t end with anything other than a multi-person match between these two factions. With Omega as AEW’s heel world champion, Pac should emerge from this feud as the clear winner and challenger to Omega’s reign.

(2) HIKARU SHIDA vs. ABADON

New Developments: Shida defended the AEW women’s title against Abadon and defeated her after a back-and-forth match.

Highs & Lows: This feud ended as it should have. Abadon presented a different kind of challenge for Shida, even if the “mind-games” element of the feud felt forced at times. Whether or not Abadon can be a valuable member of the AEW roster depends on how she is booked after this loss. She should target a smaller, more vulnerable babyface and establish herself as a vicious heel.

Length of Feud: November 7th, 2020

(2) BRITT BAKER vs. THUNDER ROSA

New Developments: None

Highs & Lows: Baker is a fantastic heel. She embraces it more each time we see her and seems more comfortable in that role than ever. Rosa, on the other hand, is a definite babyface. She has all the credentials of a legitimate badass and compliments Baker’s cowardly tendencies perfectly. It remains to be seen if Baker can hold her own against Rosa in the ring. Baker’s only weakness is her ability to have a standout match.

Length of Feud: November 7th, 2020

Forecast & Prediction: What’s great about this feud is that it can go either way and both wrestlers will benefit. Rosa can overcome Baker and establish herself as a top babyface in AEW. Conversely, Baker can overcome Rosa with heel tactics, establishing herself as one of AEW’s tops heels. Ultimately, Rosa should beat baker and go on to win the AEW women’s title. Her legitimacy and likability would help to establish that title and put it on par with the men’s world title.
