Jerry Lawler set to make return to Raw broadcast booth next week

WWE announcer/wrestling legend Jerry Lawler and his fiancee were arrested early Friday morning following a late-night argument and altercation at Lawler’s Memphis home, reports WREG-TV.

Lawler and his fiancee, Lauryn McBride, were both charged with assault when police were unable to determine which one was the primary aggressor in the domestic violence incident.

Both had injuries and were taken to Regional Medical Center in Memphis before being booked in jail early Friday morning, reports the Commercial Appeal. A court date has been set for Monday.

Specifically, according to jail records, Lawler, 66, was booked at 1:04 a.m. and McBride, 27, was booked at 1:33 a.m. Both were charged with domestic assault with bodily harm and both are scheduled for court at 8:30 a.m. Monday morning.

Lawler’s Story

Lawler told police that he and McBride argued over where she had been on Thursday night.

Lawler claimed that McBride scratched him on his face, threw a candle at him, and kicked him in the groin.

Lawler also claimed that McBride brought a pistol into the home from the garage. He also claims that she was intoxicated and he was trying to stop her from leaving in her vehicle.

McBride’s Story

Lauryn told police officers that they got into an argument that turned violent. She alleges that Lawler “held her against the kitchen counter and then hit her on the left side of her head and pushed her against the stove.”

As for the pistol, Lauryn claimed to police that Lawler went upstairs, retrieved an unloaded pistol that he put on the kitchen counter, and told her to “go ahead and kill yourself.” Lawler claimed Lauryn brought in the pistol from the garage.
