El Rey Network and the popular South by Southwest (SXSW) conference have planned a special Lucha Underground event for Tuesday, March 15 in Austin, Texas.
The first element is a panel discussion, “Importing Lucha Libre: The Creation of El Rey Network’s Lucha Underground,” discussing the brainchild of producer Mark Burnett and El Rey founder Robert Rodriguez.
The second element is Lucha leaving the “temple” in Los Angeles for the first time to run a live event at the Austin Music Hall with 15 stars in action.
Rey Mysterio is advertised for the panel (and presumably the show) along with Showrunner/Executive Producer Eric Van Wagenen, “Lucha Underground” owner Dorian Roldán, and El Rey Network co-founder and “Lucha Underground” Owner Cristina Patwa.
Lucha Underground currently airs weekly on Wednesday nights on El Rey Network.
