Tuesday night’s (9/11) WWE Smackdown Live on USA Network drew a 1.58 rating, below last week’s 1.68 rating and the lowest rating since the Aug. 14 episode drew a 1.55. The rolling ten-week average headed into this week was 1.60. Total viewership was 2.229 million.

One year ago this week, Smackdown drew a 1.93 rating and two years ago Smackdown drew a 1.86 rating. This year’s ratings for Smackdown are a sharper drop-off than Raw has experienced this year compared to the prior two years.

The Smackdown average so far in 2018 is 1.69, down from a 1.75 average rating through this week in 2017.

Despite the drop in rating, Smackdown still finished no. 2 among all cable shows in the key 18-49 demographic with a 0.7 rating (SOURCE). Only Mayans MC on FX did better with a 0.8 rating.

In total viewership, Smackdown finished fourth among all shows. “The Rachel Maddow Show” on MSNBC was no. 1 with 3.493 million viewers, easy topping both Smackdown’s 2.229 million and Mayans MC’s 2.007 million. Fox News’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight” finished no. 2 in overall viewers with 2.759 million. MSNBC’s “Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” finished no. 3 with 2.676 million, giving political news the top three spots on cable in overall viewership.
