RAW HITS AND MISSES Owens vs. Corbin – MISS: This was not a good episode of Raw. It wasn’t necessarily bad, but it wasn’t good. It certainly did not get off to a good start […]
TONY D’ANGELO (w/Stacks) vs. DIJAK Wes Lee has been the NXT North American Champion for a little while now, and there are plenty of competitors coming for his title. D’Angelo and Dijak are two of […]
Bloodline opening promo – HIT Kevin Owens was the MVP of this segment. K.O. saving Sami Zayn only to call his shot against Roman was a great touch. K.O. came off as a badass with […]
Opening Segment – MISS: It is rare that I give a segment involving The Bloodline a Miss, but this opening segment didn’t work for me. I have been very complimentary of WWE for doing different […]
CARMELO HAYES vs. APOLLO CREWS This match is exactly how you want to kick off the first NXT of 2023. There is no doubt that both Crews and Hayes are incredibly gifted in the ring, […]
Bray Wyatt’s opening segment – MISS Well, at least WWE finally announced a match. Officially booked for the Royal Rumble, we have L. A Knight vs. Bray Wyatt in the first-ever pitch-black match, which those […]
Bloodline opening segment – HIT Sami Zayn was tremendous in this segment. Roman Reigns is the heartbeat of the Bloodline, but Sami is the pulse. This was the first time it felt like Sami didn’t […]
When you ask 503 American adults to name a pro wrestler, 85 will say The Rock. You’ll get a blank stare from 166. Two will say Bobo Brazil. That’s what I found when I conducted […]
Hot Opening – HIT: Raw has been a pretty good show (with some problems for sure), but it has felt largely inconsequential without Roman Reigns or a World Title. Austin Theory shouldn’t be the top […]
CARMELO HAYES (w/Trick Williams) vs. AXIOM What an explosive start to NXT! Both Carmelo Hayes and Axiom are two of the better in-ring performers that NXT has to offer. As you may expect in a […]
Liv Morgan Tegan Nox vs. Damage Ctrl for the women’s tag team championship – MISS The work got there in the last 3 minutes of the match. I want to complement Liv Morgan. This was […]
Bayley vs. Bliss – HIT: This is a marginal Hit for the opening match that was just good enough. It wasn’t great, but it worked to give Alexa Bliss the big win to become #1 […]
WES LEE vs. STACKS (w/ “The Don” Tony D’Angelo) Stacks and Tony D’Angelo attacked Wes Lee backstage with the brawl leading to the ring. Booker T and Vic Joseph said that the two had a […]
WOMENS IRON SURVIVOR CHALLENGE – ZOEY STARK vs. ROXANNE PEREZ vs. KIANA JAMES vs. CORA JADE vs. INDI HARTWELL The Iron Survivor Challenge kicked off with Roxanne Perez and Zoey Stark as the first two […]
Jon Moxley defeated Konosuke Takeshita: HOME RUN What. A. Match! It was physical. It was gritty. There was desperation for victory. And even with Moxley bleeding, there was very little about this that I would […]
The Usos vs. Riddle & Owens – HIT: The opening segment which set up this match for the Tag Team Championship was solid. But, the match itself was quite good. That isn’t surprising given the […]
Opening promo for the Bloodline – MISS The dialogue was a little, too, on the nose with the catchphrases here. I’m disappointed I’m giving this a miss, but hey, you can’t bat 1000 forever. Sheamus […]
Becky Lynch Promo – HIT: Raw started off well with Becky Lynch’s Raw return, talking about coming back from her injury at War Games. Obviously, the plan for Lynch after SummerSlam was to be a […]
FTR defeated Top Flight to retain the ROH Tag Titles: HIT All caveats about FTR’s booking and the ROH scene aside, this was an excellent match featuring two recognized teams. Great to see Top Flight […]
ROXANNE PEREZ vs. INDI HARTWELL We’ve seen a bit of an edgier Indi Hartwell as of late, trying to be taken more serious as a singles competitor. Roxanne Perez has gotten on Indi’s bad side […]
The 5th member was announced for team Belair – MISS Terrific to see Becky Lynch back in the ring. The brawl from the ten women was fine, but the overall presentation of the reveal was […]
WWE SURVIVOR SERIES WARGAMES 2022 HITS AND MISSES NOVEMBER 26, 2022 BOSTON, MA. AT THE TD GARDEN AIRED ON PEACOCK, 8:00 p.m. EST, 7:00 a.m. CST BY FRANK PETEANI (@FrankPeteani), PWTORCH.COM CONTRIBUTOR Announcers: Michael Cole […]
WWE Survivor Series. The ONE time a year that Superstars from Raw and Smackdown go head-to-head in direct competition… Nope, hold on. That was wrong. It is a new era in the WWE and instead, […]
Brawling Brutes and Drew McIntyre opening promo – HIT I enjoyed Sheamus being honest about his history with Drew in this promo; other than that, this promo was leaning toward a miss until Sami Zayn […]
