Ahead of their WrestleMania 38 match this weekend, Charlotte Flair had some praise for Ronda Rousey.

In an interview with CBS Sports, Flair credited Rousey for picking up the wrestling business as quickly as she has.

“I didn’t know fans saw her in the wrong way,” Charlotte Flair said. “What percentage of people really say that… If I listen to what people said about me, oof, I wouldn’t be here today. First of all, I’m facing Ronda next week. Don’t take this as I’m going to bat for her. I’m just saying, you can’t knock someone who did something in one year that takes many years and years and years to learn or to grasp. And she did a pretty damn good job in one year. It’s just easier to be negative.”

Rousey returned to WWE after a hiatus at this year’s Royal Rumble event in January. Rousey won the women’s Royal Rumble match and chose to face Flair at this year’s WrestleMania for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. Rousey’s last WrestleMania match was WrestleMania 35 — a triple threat match with Becky Lynch and Flair for both the Raw Women’s Championship and Smackdown Women’s Championship.

WrestleMania 38 will air on Peacock on Saturday April 2 and Sunday April 3. Matches on the show include Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the Undisputed World Championship, Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship, A.J. Styles vs. Edge, Austin Theory vs. Pat McAfee, Johnny Knoxville vs. Sami Zayn, Steve Austin on the KO Show, and more.
