SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Rey Mysterio was mysteriously missing from this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, after being promoted in a match against Veer.

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Mysterio missed the show and was unable to compete due to a medical issue. Instead, Dominik wrestled Veer and was decimated with a submission hold after the match was over. The report does not indicate when Mysterio will be healthy enough to return.

Veer vs. Rey Mysterio was setup last week on Raw after Veer made his long-awaited television re-debut and took about both Rey and Dominik. Veer taking out Dominik after beating him this week on the show sets the table for a strong Rey return when he is available again.

Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio are the first-ever father and son tag team to win the tag team titles. They competed against The Miz and Logan Paul at WrestleMania, but lost the match. Veer originally debuted on the main roster alongside Jinder Mahal and Shankey. Veer was drafted to Monday Night Raw in the 2021 WWE Draft, but has not been seen on television since then. WWE ran countless vignettes for Veer’s return across multiple months and he finally appeared on last week’s post-WrestleMania edition of Monday Night Raw.

Monday Night Raw this week also featured the Raw in-ring return of Cody Rhodes. Rhodes defeated The Miz in his first Raw match in over six years. After the victory, Seth Rollins and Rhodes came face to face and agreed to a WrestleMania rematch at WrestleMania Backlash.
