WWE Smackdown Social Media Tracking

August 2: WWE Smackdown ranked #2 in social media activity among series & specials, trailing “Pretty Little Liars.”

Smackdown also would have ranked #2 in the sports category behind Cardinals-Reds MLB baseball.

Smackdown drew 89,000 tweets, down 33 percent from Week 1 of the “new era” last Tuesday.

The number of unique authors was 20,000, down 39 percent from 33k last week.

– Nielsen introduced a new way of reporting social media activity – the “Social Content Ratings,” which now include Facebook activity during a show.

Facebook produced 113,000 “interactions” and 72,000 unique people writing about Smackdown, indicating there is more of a Facebook than Twitter audience.

Adding together Twitter and Facebook, Nielsen reported a total social media audience of 202,000 interactions and 93,000 uniques.

– Going forward, we will report the total “Social Content Ratings” for both Raw and Smackdown.
