September 6 Update: WWE announced that Curt Hawkins will make his Smackdown Live debut next Tuesday (Sept. 13) on the Smackdown after Backlash.

August 16 Report

WWE announced during Tuesday’s Smackdown Live that Curt Hawkins is returning to WWE TV.

Hawkins was cut by WWE two years ago and returned to the independents as Brian Myers. Hawkins resurfaced on national TV last year on TNA Impact as part of Global Force Wrestling’s feud with TNA.

This year, Hawkins is returning to the Smackdown brand where his former tag partner Zack Ryder is teaming with Mojo Rawley as the Hype Bros.

Hawkins’s introductory vignette took a page from Matt Hardy’s old “Matt Facts” by boasting about impossible feats, such as being able to slam shut a revolving door.
