SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

WWE is planning to release a DVD on the history of women’s wrestling. It’s a three disc set titled: “Then, Now, Forever: The Evolution of WWE’s Women’s Division.”

The cover DVD includes Ronda Rousey in the middle flanked by Sasha Banks, Natalya, and Bayley on the left and Charlotte Flair, Stephanie McMahon, and Nia Jax on the right in the top row, with a second row of Mickie James, Paige, Trish Stratus, Asuka, Jacqueline, Lita, and Beth Phoenix, and finally a third row of Madusa, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, Mae Young, Becky Lynch, and Wendy Richter.

Notably absent was Fabulous Moolah, a subject of recent controversy.

The DVD will focus on WWE’s women’s division rather than the history of all women’s wrestling. The box summary states, in part:

“Much has changed since the days of Mae Young and the Fabulous Moolah. In the once-male-dominated world of sports entertainment.. women’s wrestling has evolved, and the ladies now stand eye-to-eye with their male counterparts. This was no small task, as it took years of revolutionary women doing extraordinary things to fully achieve.”

It will be released on June 25 and 26 in Europe and the U.S., respectively. Read more details at WrestlingDVDNetwork.com.
