Antonio allowed for the match to happen then demanded Santos begin introductions immediately.

Marty hit a package piledriver for the win.

WINNER: Marty Martinez at 3:38 to become the new Lucha Underground Champion.

Post-match: The woman celebrated with Marty in the ring.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Well so much for all those contender’s I listed for Pentagon last week. I knew Marty would be up to something, but I didn’t think it would be a title change this quickly. They left a lot to be desired with Pentagon as champion because there were many more programs and big matches they could’ve had with him. The triple threat tonight could’ve been really good if it had more than 6 minutes. That being said, I feel that Marty is not a bad choice to make champion. Pentagon’s reign was too short for my liking, but Marty is a fresh act that is over as a heel. I expect there to be another title change at Ultima Lucha as that seems to be a pattern so Marty’s reign will likely last the rest of the season… I’m really liking Fenix as a heel. He’s changed up his style taking out a lot of the sequences that fans really liked and he’s getting the heat he needs. I’m guessing this will lead to a return of Catrina somewhere down the line likely at Ultima Lucha. They began talking about Ultima Lucha 4 so I’m guessing we will start to hear some match announcements imaybe as early as next week.

1 Comment on 9/19 Lucha Underground TV Report (season 4, ep. 15): Pentagon Dark, Aerostar, Fenix, El Dragon Azteca Jr., Marty “The Moth” Martinez, King Cuerno

  1. It was a very good show. I didn’t see that one coming and I felt like I was watching Raw or Nitro back in the day with the spontaneity and surprises. It will be interesting to see where they go from here. Marty is not going to be like Matanza being a monster champion, but with Chelsea Green, who I didn’t even recognize, entering the picture they can take this a lot of places. How is Pentagon going to recover? Ultima Lucha is going to be very interesting.
