SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

WWE’s monthly PPV event, TLC, is part of a package of Network content in December looking to reach year-end subscriber goals.

On Monday, WWE released a preview of the next “Stone Cold Podcast” with guest Shawn Michaels and officially acknowledged the release of new tape library content.

The pre-recorded Austin & Michaels podcast premieres Sunday night after the TLC PPV. WWE released a teaser showing Austin asking Michaels what the conversation was with Ric Flair after Flair’s WWE retirement match at WrestleMania 24.

WWE also acknowledged the release of archival footage from Global Wrestling Federation, Mid-South Wrestling, Smoky Mountain Wrestling, the AWA, and NWA World Championship Wrestling shows.

Attempting to appeal to WWE fans who may not be aware of the promotions, WWE is marketing the tape library content as “before they were stars.”

“Watch the early days of legendary Superstars such as Sting, Steve Austin, The Ultimate Warrior, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, and others anytime, anywhere on demand,” WWE wrote.

It points to the selection of shows released not necessarily being the best shows from the promotions, but featuring familiar names and stars in a non-WWE setting.
