SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

It’s official – the franchise of WWE will meet the franchise of TNA.

WWE confirmed Friday that John Cena and A.J. Styles will meet at the Money in the Bank PPV on June 19 in Las Vegas.

The match was set up this week on Raw when Styles answered Cena’s return promo, then set him up for a three-on-one beat down with The Club.

In the fiction, WWE is stacking the deck for Cena by noting this is his first PPV match since recovering from shoulder surgery, creating questions over whether he will be at 100 percent against Styles.

For Cena, the match against Styles marks another historic Money in the Bank match-up. Five years ago at MITB 2011, Cena faced C.M. Punk for the WWE Title in Chicago with Punk’s contract status a big question mark going into the match.

WWE followed with a video promo from Styles reacting to the match being signed. Styles also teased an explanation for why he attacked Cena this Monday on Raw.

Current WWE Money in the Bank PPV Line-up

  • Dream Match: John Cena vs. A.J. Styles
  • WWE World Title match: Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins
  • MITB ladder match: Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Chris Jericho, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, Alberto Del Rio, and one more qualifier
