WWE LIVE EVENT RESULTS – SMACKDOWN BRAND
MARCH 27, 2017
NORFOLK, VA., AT THE SCOPE
ROBBIE VOLGER, PWTORCH CORRESPONDENT

I was in Norfolk last for the last House show before Mania. The crowd was massive. They said they sold out the Scope. (Definitely more people then when they filmed Smackdown back last May)

(1) Randy Orton defeated Miz (w/Maryse) with the RKO. Maryse got ejected during the match.

(2) Rhyno & Heath Slater & Mojo Rawley & Apollo Crews defeated The Vaudevillians & Breezeango after Rhyno hit the Gore on Fandango. Big pop for Rhyno throughout the whole match.

Corbin cut a promo about Intercontinental Championship Match with Ambrose later in the night.

(3) Kalisto defeated Curt Hawkins with his solida-Del-sol. (Very stiff, not much crowd reaction)

(4) Bray Wyatt defeated Luke Harper to retain the WWE Championship. Huge baby face reaction during the enterances for both, until Bray insulted the crowd, and those turned to boos. Miz came out and was watching the match from start to finish. He was the only wrestler to do so for any other match. After that match, Harper cut a promo about how he was going to be a future WWE Champion.

Intermission.

(5) Becky Lynch & Asuka & Tamina Snuka defeated Alexa Bliss & Natalya & Carmella (w/Ellsworth) after Becky applied dis-arm-her on Carmella to make her tap out. Special guest ref was Mickie James. Big pop for Asuka and Becky.

(6) Dean Ambrose defeated Baron Corbin via DQ to retain the Intercontinental Championship after Corbin hit Ambrose with chair. Eventually Corbin tried to attack Ambrose again with chair, and Ambrose countered with dirty deeds. Big pop for Ambrose.

(8) John Cena defeated A.J. Styles in a Norfolk street Fight after an AA through a table. Biggest pops of the night for both, but Styles had about 50/50 cheers and boos. Three tables were broken throughout the match. Very entertaining to close the show. Cena cut a promo about how Smackdown was the superior brand, and how on a Monday night Norfolk sold out the Scope, and how it’s great to wrestle for a show that everyone in the company thinks is the B-Show.

Final Thoughts: Great show overall. Very flat during the women’s and Kalisto match, but other that that, a very fun show to be at. Like I said earlier, the crowd was huge! Definitley much bigger than when they taped Smackdown here last May.
