– Smackdown opened with Roman Reigns coming to the ring for the opening match. Bo Dallas interrupted and warned Reigns about being trapped inside Hell in a Cell with (ahem) Brother Bray Wyatt. Bo told Reigns to bo-lieve that he’s leaving Hell in a Cell on a stretcher.

(1) Roman Reigns squashed Bo Dallas. After the match, Reigns got on the mic to warn Bray about Hell in a Cell. “I am bringing the big fight!” he declared. Bray interrupted on the video screen with his own warning that Reigns’s sin of pride will be his undoing.

(2) Mr. MITB Sheamus & King Barrett beat Neville & Cesaro in a re-match from Raw. Sheamus pinned Cesaro after Barrett surprised Cesaro with the Bullhammer behind the ref’s back.

– Backstage, Summer Rae talked about being special referee for Rusev vs. Dolph Ziggler tonight.

– Locker Room: Dean Ambrose pulled out random objects from a bag as Byron Saxton re-visited Monday’s fan poll on Paige vs. Ambrose being most unconventional on the roster. The bit was to hype the Payday candy bar… and present Ambrose as a whackjob.

(3) IC champion Kevin Owens beat Zack Ryder in a non-title match. Ryback was ringside to stare down Owens ahead of their IC Title match at HIAC in two weeks.

(4) Dolph Ziggler beat Rusev with Summer Rae as special referee. Summer slow-counted Rusev, then fast-counted Dolph to victory. Afterward, Summer noted that Rusev ditched her and Lana ditched Dolph, so maybe they should get together. Dolph balked, saying he’s not going to be used and he’s not playing games. Dolph left the ring, leaving Summer to sell embarrassment being turned down.

– Backstage, Renee Young interviewed the Dudleys and Dean Ambrose ahead of the main event against New Day.

(5) Braun Strowman & Luke Harper quickly beat the Prime Time Players (Titus O’Neil & Darren Young). The Players sure have fallen off.

(6) Divas champion Charlotte (w/Becky Lynch) beat Alicia Fox (w/the Bellas) in a non-title match. Charlotte got the submission win, then Team Bellas attacked Charlotte after the match. Paige made the save her her former teammates, though, apparently not wanting to be one-upped by Natalya in the friend department.

– Backstage, Paige tried to explain herself to Charlotte and Becky. Paige wanted to make it up to them, but Charlotte didn’t want to hear it. Suddenly, people ran past them. Charlotte and Becky followed them down the hallway to see what the commotion was. Natalya was down and selling an injury. The announcers presumed Paige had something to do with it.

– Video Package on The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar feud.

– Before the main event, New Day cut a heel promo antagonizing Ambrose’s hometown crowd. The Dudleys were out first for the face trio, then Ambrose got a big hometown reaction firing up the crowd.

(7) The Dudleys & Dean Ambrose beat WWE tag champions New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston & Big E.) via DQ in a six-man tag match. The match built to Ambrose getting a big hot tag. Ambrose cleaned house, then tagged in Bubba Ray. Chaos and the match broke down with bodies flying everywhere. The Dudleys hit the 3D on Kofi, but Xavier broke up the pin with his trombone for the DQ. Xavier’s nose got busted open somewhere along the way and he viciously attacked the Dudleys with his instrument. New Day stood tall over the Dudleys to close Smackdown.
