SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Michael Elgin tweeted a picture of himself after he suffered a fracture to his left eye socket while wrestling in an eight-man tag against L.I.J. at “King of Pro Wrestling.” Sources close to Elgin tell PWTorch he is hoping to avoid surgery on the eye. Elgin, who recently dropped the IWGP IC Championship to Tetsuya Naito, got the pin on Naito in the match. Elgin also tweeted that he is scheduled to see a specialist tomorrow to evaluate the injury.

Radican’s Analysis: I haven’t seen the match where Elgin sustained the injury yet, but here’s hoping that Elgin’s fractured eye socket won’t require surgery. Elgin’s eye doesn’t look good in the picture he posted on Twitter. Elgin has been a key part of NJPW this year since signing a multi-year deal with the company earlier this year.
