Some notes from Smackdown at the Hydro in Glasgow. The building is new and mostly used for concerts.
MAIN EVENT TAPING
(1) Jason Jordan (w/Chad Gable) beat Victor (w/Konnor). Nice opener, crowd into AA.
JBL came out for commentary in a kilt. The crowd got a kick out of it.
POST-SMACKDOWN DARK MATCHES
(1) The Usos beat The Hype Bros. by submission. Zack Ryder tapped to Uso with red bandana.
(2) Dolph Ziggler beat Miz with a super kick to retain IC Title after interference from Maryse backfired.
(3) A.J. Styles beat Dean Ambrose after bouncing his head off an exposed turnbuckle to retain. The crowd was really into match, with competing “A.J. Styles / Let’s Go Ambrose” chants. Ambrose got the higher-pitched chants from kids, with the older ardent fans more for Styles, but both were popular.
ALSO: They hyped the return of Edge and Undertaker next week hyped throughout show.
